Following comprehensive deliberations, the Board affirms that it remains fully satisfied with the reported sighting of the crescent in Morocco. This sighting was officially confirmed by the Ministry for Religious Affairs and duly endorsed by the authorised signatory. The confirmation was received by the Board at Noor TV, upon which the formal announcement was made. Subsequently, additional corroborating reports were brought to our attention. The crescent was sighted using binoculars and telescopes by three experienced Muslim observers within the United Kingdom, all of whom possess significant expertise in the practical science of moon sighting and are regular participants in such observations. These local reports were rigorously examined and validated by a panel of qualified individuals with both religious and scientific expertise. The adviser to the Noor TV Moon Sighting Board, Dr. Raja Zahid Nawaz, has confirmed that he spoke directly with Engineer Qamaruddin, who verified that the panel carefully assessed the local sighting claims and collectively agreed that the crescent had indeed been sighted using binoculars and telescopic aid. We were also informed that the same moon-sighting panel within the United Kingdom received verified reports of sightings from France. In light of all the above, the Board remains firmly convinced that the decision to observe Eid ul-Fitr on Friday was correct, and we stand by this determination. @IbrahimMal74532 @Post_Punk @mshafiquk If a Moon is missed, calendar rules or weather & do 30 days or on certain runs of 29 months. Then binocs can see on 28th on certain months as explained earlier. This could happen twice a year.

@IbrahimMal74532 @Post_Punk @mshafiquk 14 Dec 2023 Moon was seen by binocs by 1 person. Rejected as only 1 person. Month started 16 Dec. Moon seen with binocs on 12 Jan 2024 (28th of Month). It wasn’t seen with naked eye, naked eye sighting on 29th. 13 Jan 2024.

@IbrahimMal74532 @Post_Punk @mshafiquk & it will happen again around twice a year. Any time defer to 30 days on a run of 29 day month, binocs will likely see a day early on 28th.

@IbrahimMal74532 @Post_Punk @mshafiquk You know there are calendar rules right? 2 people have to see to start month (1 in Ramadan). Only 1 guy with high powered binocs saw in Dec 23 (another problem with binocs) so 30 days. Which meant saw on 28th next month.

Months with a day gap between invisible & visible where binocs will see Moon on that day. When that is paired with a run of 29 day months it causes 28 days. Around 15% of time!

@IbrahimMal74532 @mshafiquk Understand why you want to use optical aids but there are on average around 2 x 28 day months a year coming using optical aids.

@mshafiquk Honestly it's not even worth bothering with them anymore I hate to say this but I asked why they don't use optical aids on his Facebook and was attacked by a few followers and then blocked by the society The UK needs to move towards a unified sighting via optical aids

The final announcement which I only got round to sharing was the negative sighting in the British Isles by the New Crescent Society and they will complete 30 days of fasting and #EidalFitron Saturday 21st March 2026
