As an aside, it’s telling that public concern about TSA wait times focuses on the inconvenience it causes travelers. Concentrating a bunch of people outside the sterile area of an airport is a huge security problem. It shows how people don’t take airport security seriously.
Marc Scribner@marcscribner

Spot on, @PostOpinions: TSA’s Screening Partnership Program can avoid (or at least delay) airport security chaos from government shutdowns. But its potential is limited by poor design. We need direct airport contracting and an independent revenue stream. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2026/…

WSJ: The base case, several oil officials in Saudi Arabia’s said, is that oil prices could soar past $180 a barrel if the disruptions persist until late April.

"'We need about a month to weaken the Iranians more with strikes, take the island and then get them by the balls and use it for negotiations,' a source with knowledge of the White House thinking said." axios.com/2026/03/20/ira…

The International Energy Agency is this morning suggesting people should work from home, avoid air travel and drive at lower speeds to help tackle impending oil shortages The International Energy Agency (IEA) has issued a list of “demand side measures” that governments, businesses and households could take to alleviate the impact of soaring oil prices and disruption to supplies It has also recommended that ministers could reduce road speed limits, reduce car access to designated zones in large cities and give vehicles with odd-numbered plates access on different weekdays to those with even-numbered plates. Fatih Birol, the IEA executive director, said: “The war in the Middle East is creating a major energy crisis, including the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market. In the absence of a swift resolution, the impacts on energy markets and economies are set to become more and more severe.” The report also recommended that travellers “avoid air travel where alternative options exist” and switch from private cars to public transport

Do any Western media outlets feel any responsibility anymore to the public? @Reuters merely reposts a regime propaganda video knowing full well that these poor women were threatened and their families abused to force them from asylum. We all know they will suffer serious repercussions when the cameras are turned off. Who are the people working at this news agency that make these editorial choices?

Footage filmed by Reuters showed members of the Iranian women’s national soccer team attending a welcoming ceremony in Tehran, after returning home from Australia reut.rs/4rIAJuc

Everyone had private airport security before 9/11. We federalized it because the private guys didn't detect the box cutters used by the hijackers. We are now seeing that we are too immature in our budget process to have government security at airports.
Henri Pierre-Jacques@hpierrejacques

Wow found out today that SFO has its own private security after one of my founders in SF said "What security issues? It took me 20 minutes today." SF is truly different lol

Genuinely, just cut this shit out. This is the same variety of jingoistic hubris that lead to the Russian military getting its teeth kicked in 30km outside of Kyiv. 99% of USMC’s successful reputation is a product of its very smart and very aggressive war planners (arguably the best in DoD), and I can almost guarantee to you and everyone else that they’re looking at this proposed operation and trying their best not to look at the White House and tell them to “go fuck yourselves with a rusty pipe.”

People often say October 7th was a huge strategic failure from Hamas' perspective, and in a sense it was obviously, but I do wonder whether their overarching goal was simply to whip up as much antisemitism as possible in the long-run. Because on that front they've sadly succeeded
Nick Tyrone@NicholasTyrone

Whatever social media app I use now, there is just so much antisemitism flowing through there. It’s disturbing.

Anyone who has ever interviewed voters in the Phoenix, Philly, Detroit or Atlanta suburbs -- where presidential elections are mostly decided -- knows this is absurd, the kind of thing that travels online and nowhere else.
Cernovich@Cernovich

A Tucker Carlson / Joe Kent ticket would steam roll anything Democrats or Republicans could bring. It's laughable when people try to argue this with me. Spend some time offline. Good looking, physically fit white men are back "in."
