The Don Hansen Football Committee has released the 2025 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team, which includes a quartet of Northwest Missouri State University football players. Second Team All-America Kaleb McCullough, OL Clayton Power, DL Honorable Mention All-America Carter Edwards, LB Wes Merriman, OL It is the fourth All-America accolade for senior defensive lineman Clayton Power this season. He was a first-team AFCA selection and a second-team choice by the Associated Press and the D2CCA. Power was named the MIAA Defensive Lineman of the Year. It is the second All-America honor for sophomore offensive lineman Kaleb McCullough. McCullough started all 12 games at left tackle and was a first-team all-MIAA pick. It is the first All-America award for both senior linebacker Carter Edwards and senior offensive lineman Wes Merriman. Edwards was a unanimous first-team all-MIAA pick as he led the Bearcats in tackles (85), tackles-for-loss (13), forced fumbles (4) and interceptions (2). Four members of the @NWBearcat_FB squad gained 2025 D2CCA All-Super Region 4 honors led by first-team selection Clayton Power. Power (Stilwell, Kan.) notched first-team status on the defensive line. Offensive linemen senior Wes Merriman (Monett, Mo.) and sophomore Kaleb McCullough (Humboldt, Iowa) are joined by senior linebacker Carter Edwards (St. Louis, Mo.) on the second team. Power was chosen as a first-team all-MIAA performer and the MIAA's Defensive Lineman of the Year. He ranked second in the MIAA in quarterback sacks (7.5). Power tied for No. 7 in the MIAA in tackles-for-loss (10.0). Power started all 12 games and registered 40 total tackles. He tied for the team lead in interceptions (2). The Bearcat defensive unit led the MIAA in scoring defense (18.0 ppg), total defense (283.9 yards/game), passing defense (159.3 yards/game), defensive passing efficiency (102.6), fewest first downs allowed (188 - 15.7/game) and third-down conversions (29.6%). Merriman was the starting right guard in all 12 games, while McCullough was the starting left tackle in all 12 contests. Merriman and McCullough were first-team all-MIAA picks on the offensive line. The Bearcat offensive line unit allowed the fewest sacks (15) in the MIAA in 2025. The Bearcats led the MIAA in total touchdowns scored (53), rushing touchdowns (32) and rushing offense (243.1 yards/game). Edwards was the starting middle linebacker in all 12 contests. He was a unanimous first-team all-MIAA choice at linebacker. Edwards led the Bearcats in tackles (85). He also topped the squad in tackles-for-loss (13.0), forced fumbles (4) and interceptions (2). He tied for second in the MIAA in tackles-for-loss and tied for fifth in the league in sacks (6.0). He led the MIAA in forced fumbles (4). Edwards had a season-high 14 tackles vs. Harding in the NCAA first-round playoff game in Searcy, Ark. Northwest tied for the second-most Super Region 4 picks with four.
