Director Peter Berg wanted brutal realism in Friday Night Lights (2004). He instructed the actors to actually hit each other during the football scenes. The players were often left bleeding and bruised, making the game footage painfully authentic.

The average high school head football coach stipend is around $7,000. Fluctuating heavily For that, they’re expected to coach year-round, run a program, mentor kids, manage parents, recruit their own halls, fundraise, break down film, coordinate staffs, and be available almost 24/7. Football coaches are grossly underpaid for what we ask of them.

@bariadimark @coachwwest Life got too easy. Football is the only thing left for some young men that is hard. Most of human history, men worked physically demanding jobs. Now, most men sit in front of a computer.
