Being a high school multi-sport athlete should be encouraged, not discouraged. As a varsity coach, I support players competing in other sports. The problem isn’t multi-sport participation—it’s coaches expecting year-round priority. That’s control, not development.

God got you.

High School Varsity Baseball isn’t a highlight reel. Every day you’re competing with guys who want your spot as much as you want theirs while battling for a state title. Talent helps, but showing up, staying coachable, and doing the boring work daily keeps you on the field!

Always remember, your character becomes your legacy as an athlete. This is what you are remembered by. Not only do sports build character, but even more importantly, it reveals character. You cannot hide from adversity as an athlete. Build your Legacy!
