Dr Peter Mbah described as the first governor to truly govern Enugu State As road construction accelerates across the state By Ede Cornelius N. (De Young) As the Owo – Ubahu – Amankanu – UmuAlor – Ihenyi – Ikem dual carriageway nears completion, the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has praised Governor Dr Peter Mbah for his exceptional commitment to delivering development to the people of Enugu State. A site engineer with the construction firm described Governor Mbah as one of the most dedicated governors in the South East, noting that the company has found it both inspiring and demanding working with a leader who personally monitors projects, even late into the night. According to the engineer, the governor maintains relentless pressure on contractors to meet project timelines and standards, a development that has compelled the company to deploy additional equipment and manpower, working day and night to ensure the timely completion of the road. He also highlighted several other major road projects currently being executed across towns and rural communities in the state, including the Eha-Amufu – UmuAlor – Neke Road and the Ikem – Nkwo to Benue Road in Nsukka, among others. In a moving moment captured in the video, a village woman expressed overwhelming gratitude to Governor Mbah, describing him as “the first person to truly govern Enugu State.” Her remark, she explained, reflects the fact that government presence is being felt for the first time in many rural communities, with roads now opening up access to markets and economic opportunities. She further expressed a heartfelt desire to meet the governor personally so she could present him with some of the local produce from her community as tokens of appreciation from a people whose lives are being transformed by the ongoing infrastructure development. Video speaks.

@WeatherMonitors It's LNG (liquid natural gas), carried at cryogenic temperatures between -40ºC / -162°C (-260°F), to keep it in a liquid state for transport. It's not "gas" (gasoline) or "petrol", as is known in English-speaking countries.

There are CEOs in this country making over ₦50 billion a year. But their employees? Surviving on ₦150k a month. Can’t pay rent. Can’t afford decent food. Can’t even buy a second hand car. And somehow, everyone acts like this is “normal.” How do you sleep at night, knowing your business thrives while the people keeping it alive starve under your roof? This is not business. This is moral rot.

Wike may be brash and loud, He’s anything but reckless; he fights dirty in politics, but clean in law. Anyone fighting him must understand that his battles are carefully fought within the law. INEC recognizing and inviting his PDP faction to the 2026 stakeholders’ meeting shows how calculated his approach is.

Enugu State will spend:
₦115 billion on office furniture
₦21 billion on vehicles
₦35 billion on aircraft And just ₦679 million on buying drugs/labs/ medical supplies for 4.7 million people. That’s less than ₦150 per person for medical supplies. It’s a crime scene.

Atedo N. A. Peterside is one of Nigeria’s most respected bankers and entrepreneurs and the founder of what is today Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC. Peterside founded Investment Banking & Trust Company (IBTC) in February 1989, at age 33, with a clear vision: to build a bank grounded in ethical practices, professionalism, and integrity, even in a crowded banking industry. He led IBTC from a small investment bank into one of Nigeria’s most trusted financial institutions, long before it merged with Stanbic Bank to form Stanbic IBTC in 2007. Under Peterside’s leadership, IBTC thrived and expanded, ultimately becoming a leading full-service financial institution with subsidiaries spanning banking, pensions, asset management, stockbroking, trusteeship, insurance, and more. His strategic approach and ethical backbone helped set high standards for corporate governance in Nigeria’s financial industry. In recognition of his immense contribution to the banking sector, Peterside received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Banker Awards in 2022, where he highlighted the importance of building a shared culture and values across the organisation. Even years after transitioning out of executive roles, his legacy continues to inspire business leaders and young entrepreneurs across Africa. ✔ Inspiring takeaway: He started with a bold vision, built a bank renowned for integrity and excellence, and then structured it to succeed beyond his tenure — a true blueprint for sustainable leadership and entrepreneurship.
