Waverly High School would like to Welcome Andrew Broders as our next head boys basketball coach. Coach Broders has served as an assistant boys and girls basketball coach for a number of years. He has been the Lincoln Lutheran Girls head coach the past 3 seasons.

@CoachCooksley Why not just seed 1-53 (or however many are in C-1 year to year) from the start, top seeds would get a double bye. That way everyone gets some kind of post season. High seeds host until you get to your last 8, then play in Lincoln.

This is my proposal for C1 state tourney.
-Top 32 teams make playoffs via NSAA PP
-No Reseed, play it out
-Single Elimination, have to win to get to state tourney
- Decreases student classroom time missed
-Should decrease costs for NSAA for extra games for officials

Volleyball is queen in this state, nothing wrong with that either. But we should still be supporting our high school girls to have a great experience in multiple sports while they can.

@tony_chapman76 @PGHNebraska I appreciate this! We were told by a vb club back in JH that we would have to pick one or the other. We found a bball club & a vball club that were willing to work with us. That is really hard to find in the club world of today, but it also takes a dedicated athlete (& parents).

The best high school basketball game I’ve ever been a part of was when we (@WaverlyBball) traveled out to Scottsbluff for a district final. Incredible environment, incredible game. But we embraced it from the start.

I’ve won 6 games in my first two years as a head coach, which I’ll admit has been hard.

@marcus_scheer Good change by the NSAA but as a coach still something you have to prepare for.
Go practice at a college or somewhere with the college line.
Also important to practice somewhere with an open back drop like PBA or Devaney.
Control what you can control as a coach!

I'm sure others have already noted, but the 3-point line at PBA has changed to black for the boys state basketball tournament.
It was white for the girls tournament.

@shawn_ekwall @allgood_eric @marcus_scheer I actually like games in Devaney (not because of the court) but it’s big enough that it feels different but small enough where it can get really loud really quick. I think it’s a great in between of PBA and high school gyms.

Waverly, Norris, Gretna, Gretna East, Elkhorn, Elkhorn North, Bennington, Blair…
Usually have 3-5 teams for boys and girls each qualify to state each year.
