@MikeFelder2024 @TreadAthletics Easy solution. If your select program doesn’t offer quality development, find a quality instructor. And stop going to showcases.

@TreadAthletics I’ve heard this from both sides . Would be interesting to have a written guideline/expectations of how that collaboration works between high school, outside trainer, travel ball org and showcase pressure in season. They all pressure the kid during HS season.

It's eye opening to see the receptiveness of various MLB orgs & Power 5 schools to collaborating on their top pitchers. Open-minded & grateful for another set of eyes & perspective. Then there are the high school coaches who forbid their players from seeking outside guidance.

@robyounce @sebbaseballss A conversation with the AD would be next on my list then. We’re practically raising the next generation as coaches. If that isn’t happening, it’s time to hold or people accountable.

@robyounce @sebbaseballss If the coach isn’t handling it on the field, he sure as hell won’t handle it off. That’s why I’ll light the GM up first.

@BiggsRoad @SanzeriBaseball Different finishes for different situations in the game. I’ll finish during a pen trying not to let my trail foot touch the ground. To reinforce weight shift around the lead leg. This looks similar.

@SanzeriBaseball How does that finish allow the pitcher get to a ball hit back at him on that back hip side? In this case..the pitchers right hip. A bunt to the short side of that hip finish and I think I’m on first base. A line drive back at him and he may need a face mask? Thoughts?

The secret is loading & unloading the back leg/hip. We call it “hiding the hip” from the catcher. Trying to keep the back hip hidden as long as we can, which helps us stay sideways & rotate late. Allowing you to gather momentum & build tension in the back leg/hip simultaneously. @FlatgroundApp

@TreadAthletics Where we are at footstrike is the key. And he has pretty typical elite positioning. Control the lead shoulder not the glove side arm. Rhythm is the name of the game.

Roki Sasaki breaks traditional pitching mechanics rules. Doesn't keep his eyes on the target Arm action gets long High leg kick Lots of moving parts Glove arm isn't still at release Doesn't finish in a "good fielding position." Is he the exception or are the "gurus" wrong?

@LantzWheeler I’d imagine this is during a velo session or velo gain portion of the throwing program. If not, bad form Peter.

One of my favorite ways to improve command and prepare for live competition is by never looking at the target. Here's a great video by #Driveline showing you how it's done.

What’s the most common train in great athletes/ballplayers? • They only focus the controllables around them • Comfortable in their own skin • Learn from mistakes quicker than the rest • @donald_ecker 🧠

@LantzWheeler We don’t run pitching lessons. We run pitching sessions. Very little mechanical work, maybe an adjustment here or there. I care much more about what you do before and after you touch a baseball.

@RandySullivanPT That’s why I always go glove side and no more than 10’ off the mound.

@stats_nats @SouzaJr And this is where we’re mixing signals. You said “when a pitcher takes you yard”. That’s not the issue. It’s the blatant disrespect after. I don’t care who you are, you try to make me look stupid, I’m going to return the favor. We’re raising adults, not children.

@CoachJB_ @SouzaJr Pitchers should channel that frustration into sitting the guy down on 3 pitches his next AB. Throwing at someone to send a message after he took you yard just looks weak and like you lack confidence in your stuff

@LantzWheeler @NPA_Pitching Once again, it has nothing to do with the subject matter. It has to do with the approach. If you want the conversation to happen with Tom or any conversations throughout any of your posts, you might want to dial the opinion back a little.

I'd love to talk science with @NPA_Pitching being they're constantly promoting how their methods and protocols are backed by science. Up for it @Npa_pitching ?

@LantzWheeler @NPA_Pitching You’re correct. I’m sensitive. Sensitive to certain behaviors. I’m sure if we ran into each other it’d be a hell of a conversation. Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree on the approach at times.

@CoachJB_ @NPA_Pitching You're sensitive Josh. Not one of us has all the answers so why advertise u have the science? There's a difference between opinions and science, right? So, if you advertise to parents ur backed by scientific research, shouldn't it be backed by opinions?

@ElitePerf04 @LantzWheeler @NPA_Pitching I’ll let you really dive into some of his past posts and see why I think there may be some toxicity in his approach. Pertaining to this subject, I agree with you. Those conversations are very important. My comment was directed at the consistent approach he’s had.

@CoachJB_ @LantzWheeler @NPA_Pitching Toxic is perpetuating and regurgitating the same worthless information. If you are not will to discuss a stand point you claim to have, maybe it’s because you don’t have it?! I follow both these guys and have learned, agreed and disagreed with/from both of them.

@phins_aggies @AroundDiamond44 @SouzaJr And I can embrace that to an extent. But I can guarantee there’s still some old school Latin players sitting back shaking their hands. This is a generational change, and us old heads need to learn to embrace it. But it’s difficult. Respect is everything.

@phins_aggies @AroundDiamond44 @SouzaJr I agree it is. But there’s a limit, and it it’s passed, it becomes disrespectful. When we remove the respect from the game, we lose the point of the game.

@stats_nats @SouzaJr Respect is earned. If I was to strike someone out and do the Worm after, would that improve the game?I am 100% for celebrations in the right moment. But to blatantly disrespect your competition is childish. I’m not sure why that’s so hard to see.

@CoachJB_ @SouzaJr “If you beat me, you have to do it on my terms or I’m gonna throw a rock at you” is not parenting lol. How about being better and not getting beat in the first place if you care so much about a guys celebration? It’s lame from pitchers who don’t have to step in the box themselves
