Appreciate the NOW. Rick Pitino is spot on. Every player’s hourglass runs out faster than they think. One day, the practices, the games, the grind - it’s all gone. Cherish every rep, every moment, every opportunity. Don’t waste your sand. ⏳

Being coachable is a competitive edge. Take feedback without flinching. Apply it without excuse. Grow without needing praise. Most players protect their ego. Winners protect their growth. Feedback isn’t an attack. It’s an advantage. Use it.

3 on 3 NO DRIBBLE Great for players at all levels It’s crazy how many hoopers can get to college with no idea how to help their team unless they have the ball Also teaches that it doesn’t always need to be a ball screen (Via @BreakthruBball 🎥 )

You don’t need deload weeks in high school training: Winter break Random week off due to weather Spring break Finals May break 4th of July break August break Thanksgiving break Finals That’s 11-12 off weeks a year. When it’s time to train, you’d better train.

The best hamstring exercise you’re not doing - Gliders. I wish I started using these years ago. My athletes hamstrings have never been healthier. Gliders provide what’s missing in most hamstring programs: biceps femoris length and a touch of pelvic stability They don’t beat sprints, RDLs, or seated hamstring curls. But fit perfectly on low days And can be the missing piece for athletes with a history of hamstring issues Thanks to @justintmayo for the clip.

Do more hill sprints. Hamstring strains are the #1 injury in contact sports
and its one of the biggest reasons athletes never develop one of the most valuable qualities in sport - Speed. Hill sprinting is a smart way to reintroduce high-speed running if you’re cautious about hamstring injuries. The incline naturally shortens stride length and reduces peak hamstring strain compared to flat sprinting. Yes — nothing replaces flat max-velocity sprinting. But you have to be conditioned for it. Hill sprints help bridge that gap,
building speed exposure while managing risk. Credit to @horton_barbell (unbelievable facility) and @statsports for the clips

This is coaching 101 Kelvin Sampson is hardest on his players when things are going right, and then senses the mood and will shift to this tone when his team needs it The best coaches are the opposite of their teams emotions, and never too high or low
