The most unstoppable high school teams aren’t the ones with the most future D1 talent. They’re the ones where every player dives for loose balls, sprints on every possession, and doesn’t care who gets the credit. Toughness beats talent when talent won’t grind.

Aaron Eden gets it!!! If I were inclined to send my kid to a Hitting Instructor he would definitely be someone I would trust to teach my kid the proper fundamentals of hitting. @artofhitting is also someone I would recommend! Anyone teaching the Barrel Dump swing should be avoided! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @iamrags @low_and_outside @ROXSystem @BLocsports @TheRealJHair @KevinMench28 @RealCJ10 @JLucroy20 @Dutch_Oven45 @mikepiazza31

If you want to score in the NCAA tournament … • Catch & shoot 3s • 2 foot finishes • Transition • Ball screens, DHOs, pin downs

My Highschool baseball coach begged us to watch 20-30 minutes of college/professional baseball a night. I never understood it. Reflecting on it now, I am deeply grateful I did as he asked. It helped me think the game & develop baseball IQ ahead of my age. As I help coaching Highschool baseball now : The baseball IQ is seemingly getting worse for high schoolers as time goes on & the world becomes exceedingly more short form & instant gratification centric. If you’re a parent and/or young baseball player I hope you understand how much understanding the intricacies of the game will play in your favor over the long haul.

Not a lot of dribbling in the NCAA tournament. A ton of CATCH AND SHOOT jumpers though — maybe go work on that more than anything. Not sure how any player that is serious about improving & wanting to play at a high level doesn’t want to go shoot right now

CONSTRAINT SCRIMMAGING Really love what @CoachPalicki does to put players in game like situations, while challenging them to adapt. Here are a few ideas he shared with me the idea that are gold! Give them a shot! #GetBetterEveryDay #WednesdayWisdom

Many players need this feel 📝 Front side in, swing through the ball (And it’s a drill / feel that actually translates to the game)

Bobby Witt Jr. Example: • Behind the ball • Posture at contact Don't overlook the posture (line) The more you lean back or lean forward, the path will do the same. (Lean back = more up. Lean forward = down down)

Most hitters think the stride works like this: Foot forward… back hip stays cocked, coiled, loaded whatever the term, then WHAM. I get it. Sounds cool. But the swing isn’t a Looney Tunes slingshot. For instance, a toe-tap stride, the whole system moves forward together — head, torso, and lower half toward the pitcher in sync. Look at the yellow lines. (Start to finish) The roof → spine → base all move forward into the position to fire. Where hitters get in trouble is when the foot goes forward but the head and torso stay back. Now they’re stuck on the backside… the front shoulder pops up and the barrel starts down too soon causing a steep swing with balls into the ground or missing under that one fastball. The stride isn’t just a step. It’s a controlled forward move of the whole system. Study the lines. Agree or disagree? ⚾️ Train with an expert. Not an influencer

@KnuppelRodney Terrible call! Horrible way to end a game between two talented teams. Credit to the kid hitting three FT's with no time left!

This is such a great visual for hitters and honestly a cue I use all the time for guys who are drifting past the baseball before they even start their swing. It’s especially powerful for hitters with out of control forward moves, but also for guys who struggle to live in that 10–15° attack angle window we want for optimal ball flight (usually more downhill with the out of control move). Hitters who drift tend to: - Get on plane late or not at all. - Are in and out of the hitting zone (pitch descent angle). - Work too downhill for too long. - Run out of space between the hands slotting and the ball (this is what allows for better attack angles). When the body leaks forward early, the barrel never has time or room to get on plane deep. The path gets steep, contact gets rushed and adjustability disappears. “Turn behind the wall” immediately changes that. It forces the hitter to: - Control the forward move. - Create real depth with the barrel. - Give the hands space to slot earlier. - Get on plane earlier and stay there longer. Now the barrel can travel with that slight upward trajectory we’re actually chasing instead of chopping down and exiting the zone too soon because the forward move did not allow it to. Another way you can exagerate this cue is ask them to create as much space bertween the center of chest and the wall at downswing. That space now is the track for the barrel to get on plane.
The Hitting Vault@TheHittingVault

Young hitters often stride forward — and keep drifting after launch. 👎 Once the front heel hits (launch position), the head should stay put. Drifting after launch wrecks timing and kills bat speed = less power. Lock it in!

Want to win close games in March? Be boring. - play off two feet in the paint - throw on-target passes - hit free throws - take on balance, great shots - finish around the rim - secure rebounds with two hands - don’t gamble on defense Boring is cool. Boring wins.
