what I’m looking for in a community is people who take rat/EA ideas as given, and “yes and” them by talking about feelings with a non-berkeley-rationalist-dialect. “tpot” feels frustrating to me because it used to be close to this and

@TetraspaceWest The DC was for R&D/training/architecture iteration!! They were doing full bleeding edge research, that would take SO many parallel trials!!!
Not to mention, I think the training -> inference compute scaling implied by the relative sizes isn't even that far off of today

this chart and @cobular_ inspired me to quit caffeine for the last week and a half. I feel *substantially* different. I really had no idea how much it was affecting my mood / sleep! I’m less anxious and tired -> more confident -> more adventurous :)

most people have no idea how psychoactive alkaloids work. why would they? i love coffee. look at this chart: if you drink coffee, after 500 minutes, the caffeine is still there. many people experience this feeling as anxiety. theyd never connect it to a cup of coffee 10 hours ago

@alicemazzy How much writing have you done before you started writing things for your website? I absolutely love your diction and tone.
My model of writing skill is ~"write things and it gets better" but you seem to have far fewer published things than I'd expect for that!

@Lizquidity Tho also I've just been making more and more friends with the queers who don't JUST want to talk about tech. The tech queers are fun sometimes but there's soooo many other kinds of ppl out there to befriend too!!! :D
