Did you know that over 56% of women in tech are likely to leave the industry before mid-career? Launched by @Cadence, Fem.AI is an initiative that seeks to empower women and drive change towards a fairer tech sector by investing in non-profits, championing women-led ventures, and driving product innovation. AJL founder @jovialjoy was invited to speak at the inaugural Fem.AI Summit alongside other incredible women in tech, such as Tina Jones, @reshmasaujani, Nicole Johnson, and @ChelseaClinton . It was a fantastic day of cross-industry collaboration to find actionable solutions to gender inequity in AI careers.

Congratulations to Robert Williams, the winner of AJL’s first Gender Shades Justice Award, for finally reaching a settlement agreement in his lawsuit with the @ACLUofMichigan against the @detroitpolice Department. Williams was arrested for shoplifting based on faulty facial recognition technology, and since then, he has been working tirelessly to protect others from the dangerous uses of this technology.
