Be interesting in the right ways. Think deeply. Learn widely. Build things. Travel when you can. Read books that change how you see the world. Have stories, not just opinions. Stay curious. Ask better questions. Take risks that make you grow. Be useful. Be unforgettable. Interesting is seriously underrated.
Sahil Bloom@SahilBloom

Be boring in the right ways. Go to bed early. Wake up early. Eat simple foods. Save money. Exercise. Read old books. Avoid drama. Boring is seriously underrated.

if you are in your 20s: - don’t chill too much, work harder - don’t pick easy, pick hard + meaningful - don’t just learn, build - go deep - don’t quit early, push through - don’t stay average, be around driven people - don’t think small, think big - don’t chase status, chase skills - don’t play safe, take risks - don’t just earn, build ownership - don’t copy, find your edge - don’t overthink, ship - don’t stay comfortable, go where builders are - build real things - compounding is everything - work on what you actually care about - avoid fake work - think long term - don’t chase short wins - make decisions your future self won’t regret, if you made. make sure it wont happen twice - care about quality work - say no a lot - don’t ship average stuff - don’t compete, be different - find something others don’t see - don’t fool yourself - don’t do everything alone (great people = faster growth)

if you are in your 20s, the biggest mistake you can make it working for a random ass yc company with a random ass founder offering 120k in sf to work 9-9-6. just lock-in and ship cool stuff, and you'll make way more.

In your 20's you'll have the option to choose between Bengaluru and Gurgaon. Make your decision wisely.

I built isgithubnotdown.com to track all the times the platform unexpectedly decides to take a nap. Now when GitHub goes down for the 5th time this week, you don't have to ask "is it just me?" -- you can ask a website that's just as tired as you are.

@saurabhtwq Dont need supplements if you are just starting out. Just eat adequate protein and if not possible, then go for whey.

@mal_shaik The real question is how did you read through 1900 files in just a few hours and even write an article on it?

Competition is largely an illusion. 95% of people don't even try to do great things. 0.1% of the people are loud, so you overestimate how many people there are. The rest get stuck worrying about competition and quitting after 2 weeks.

I don’t want to be the blabbering guy here, nor do I post much about roadmaps or anything like that. I haven’t built anything huge yet, nor do I work for a big company to brag about. My advices shouldn't be taken seriously read, learn, work, post ---- rinse and repeat What to read ?? read research papers, articles, blogs, code changes on github commits, technical blogs from verified sources What to learn ?? learn to code, learn fundamentals, learn to build, learn to optimize, learn to adapt quickly, learn to learn faster, learn to do shit even when you feel not to What to work on ?? work with different architectures, work with different languages, work with different stacks, work on your projects to push past your comfort zone What to post ?? post what you read, post what you learned, post what you worked on Happy Learning anon ^_^

If someone is learning backend development by building projects, what would you suggest they start with - and what sequence of projects should they follow? Looking for a clear progression from beginner to advanced (real-world / scalable systems). Would love to hear your approach 👇

there is still no substitute for perfectly understanding every single line of code in your codebase i fall into the trap of just skimming through ai changes to "just make sure it looks good" all the time, and it makes me lose so much time to not perfectly understand every line
