@markessien @mrstephendeng Maybe not a moat for startups. But for countries, AI models are strategic infrastructure. Yet the expertise and speed to build them sit mostly in startups. So we still need startups to build those models for their region albeit with Government support.

@mrstephendeng There is no moat anywhere in the world in having a custom trained LLM of any kind. The big models will solve it. One must operate at the application layer and integrate deeply into workflows that the big guys are not integrated in - and do it fast.

1. Amazing initiative and lowers the cost to build with local languages. 2. Reinforces my belief that there is no commercial moat in language data in Africa. The impact initiatives will be abundant.
