@malmcmullan The hooter system last year was one of the best parts of the game. Took the "playing for a draw" out of the refs hands, whether they were doing it consciously or not. Bring it back to how it was last year, game over when ball goes dead. There was no issue with that.

@tq85 @IrelandFootball Egan has played every single minute of every single game this season for Hull. Deserves his call up. Who would you be calling up instead?

@IrelandFootball Heimirs having a laugh, does he even watch football nevermind watching players, Why Coleman and Egan? What have they done in the last month to deserve a call up?

What a goal from Bosun Lawal, lad is getting better week in week out for Stoke, yet, he just sat there on the bench in Yerevan when our pivot of Josh Cullen and Jason Knight were being overrun. Just think about that.

What’s one player name you regret not getting on the back of a shirt? I have three: Paul Merson Benito Carbone Albert Adomah All three were a joy to watch in claret and blue. What are yours? #AVFC

@JohnDriscoll197 @Gill_i_bix Break even? How would they have built Croke Park if they only broke even? They need money for the organisation to function

There is a thesis to be written on understanding why the GAA continually gets blamed for things which have zero to do with them. It’s simply incredible

@kevinleosmith @jim_demps You might want to watch the TV coverage again. It's the other leg that he gets the treatment for. That is simply a tensed calf. Also 90 seconds later, he's the first player sprinting over to celebrate the win. Didn't affect the outcome, I agree but still pathetic

It’s always top down in an organisation isn’t it? Sharks with no class and Plumtree with even less. Crowley dead right to call it.

@MickRya60849577 @LaobhaoiseNihE You probably need to check what whataboutery means. You are blaming RTE for not showing games that they legally can't show as the GAA will only allow them a certain amount. Stop blowing hot air and take a look at the facts and then see where the real issue lies

@LaobhaoiseNihE Every time this comes up, it's always whataboutery & contracts etc. How hard can it be to organise 4 games each weekend on terrestrial tv during the season: 1 hurling & 1 football each Sat & Sun. In this day & age, it's not a big deal.

Does anything exemplify more how tone deaf & out of touch RTE is; when on a huge Gaa weekend, they only have 1 live game on Sun pm & a Sunday night highlights program. This is exactly what they were doing 40 yrs ago 🙄.

@therealcoo @ballsdotie @officialgaa Presume you mean cynical? Unfortunately that's not the rule. It's only specifically for trips, pull downs, body checks and abuse of a referee. It's should be for more, but it's not

We've seen a lot of players bamboozled by some of the new GAA rules. Not Conor Gleeson. His touch on this two-pointer from Ryan O'Donoghue made it just a one-pointer. But had it already crossed the line before the touch?

@therealcoo @ballsdotie @officialgaa With that logic, if a team is two points down in the last minute, all the opposition have to do is keep fouling them and they'll never get a 2 point opportunity. Easy solution is not to foul them and they won't have 2 point frees then

@ballsdotie The silly rule isn't if it's touched its not a 2 pointer. The silly rule is is inter County player getting 2 points from a free. The best kickers in their respective counties raking these kicks. It's what they're meant to do. All frees should only be 1 point anyway @officialgaa

@marktsmyth1992 @GAALeagueTables Hooter is the fairest way instead of referees constantly playing for the draw like he did in the hurling today. Watch the end of Kerry v Cork last night for the prime example of why the hooter makes it more exciting. Cork had the ball and knew they had to score.

@GAALeagueTables Hooter has to go kills the excitement at the end of a tight game just look at the way the Clare and cork game finished 7 added minutes some finish

Can someone explain if Coldrick was right to blow it up or not? Monaghan won a line ball before the hooter and weren’t given the opportunity to take it. Surely they should have had one more play?

@TheFalve No not at all. If it's encroachment why not blow it up as soon as the encroachment occurs. Don't allow for an exchange of passes and the ball to go into the net before deciding they've encroached. It's terrible refereeing.

@Mike_Quirke 90% of the negativity is coming from managers, because they don't have as much control anymore. Majority of players and spectators are loving it. Few creases too be ironed out, but all that is being dramatised my managers who fear they can't choke the life out of matches anymore

I really don’t get the sudden groundswell of negativity towards the new Gaelic football rules since the weekend. As a spectator, I’ve found this year’s national league far more engaging & entertaining across the board. The new game needs stitches to fix a few cuts, not surgery.

@ChrisOConnor34 @IrishPropaganda Is that the same Cullen, who sits in MF every game for Burnley and odds on to get prom? The same that have only conceded 9 goals in 34 games. Yeah, let's throw him out cause sum1 shared a 50 sec clip of a sub for Reims passing ball sideways. Also HH picks the squad, not the FAI.
