I built a multimodal clinical co-pilot on Amazon Nova What started as a simple medication safety checker is now Nova Guard, a stateful, agentic system that helps pharmacists & clinicians: • analyze labs • detect hidden drug risks • factor in genetics • interact via voice 👇

The result: A system that doesn’t just analyze inputs It understands a patient’s clinical story over time and assists in making safer decisions.

On the AI side: I implemented dynamic model routing: • Nova Micro → fast intent classification • Nova 2 Lite → deeper clinical reasoning Balancing latency with accuracy in real time.

Then came the non-negotiable part: trust In healthcare, if it’s not secure, it’s useless. So the system includes: • A strict de-identification layer (PHI stripped before reasoning) • Secure storage via S3 • Longitudinal patient state via RDS Privacy is foundational.

Voice interface (Nova Sonic) Designed for real workflows: Pharmacists can • ask questions out loud • receive spoken clinical summaries Just interaction.

PGx safety layer The system cross-references: CYP450 genetic markers → predicting how a patient will metabolize drugs → and stopping unsafe prescriptions before they happen.

Example: A patient is prescribed Ramipril today. System flags it — not because of current meds… but due to a Lisinopril allergy recorded 2 years ago. That’s the kind of signal that gets missed.

Time-travel” audits Most systems only evaluate current medications. Nova Guard traverses longitudinal patient history → identifying risks buried in past records.
