Today I presented my Debt Relief (Developing Countries) Bill which would:
✅Compel private creditors to accept the same terms as other lenders.
✅Reduce the burden of debt for the poorest countries.
✅Cost the Treasury absolutely nothing.
The time to act is now. #DebtJustice

With interest rates spiraling, most African countries spend more on debt servicing every year than they do on education and health.
Many of the creditors are governed under UK law - we need legislation urgently to tackle this debt crisis.
