$220 million is a little over $1 per working American. Start fixing real problems. Our gas would be significantly cheaper if your party would let oil companies build refineries that process light crude in America. Instead you force us to export the oil we produce and buy heavy crude from other countries at a higher price.

Maybe it has something to do with wanting to give Trump $220 million for his ballroom? Or their illegal-taxes? Or their higher gas prices because of Trump's war?

@SenatorBennet Since the reports are paid for by tax dollars, all Americans should have access to them. What reports are being buried?

Good news that the FDA Commissioner stepped down. Now RFK Jr. should do the same. His agencies are burying reports showing vaccines are safe and effective — including data that COVID vaccines significantly reduced hospitalizations. Americans deserve honesty, transparency, and leadership that puts science first. politico.com/news/2026/05/1…

The Supreme Court has engaged in an ugly recidivism that has marked the fastest rollback of Black political rights since Reconstruction. 18 year terms limits on Justices now. Expand the court from 9 to 13 Justices now.

@Hickenlooper How do you prove that? It’s ridiculous to suggest someone, anyone, would not be able to figure out how/where/when to vote between one election and the next. We only have them once a year at the most.

@PattyMurray @SenateDems It’s not hard to figure out what he means by “right”. He is talking about citizens. You know this but continue to throw shade at the SAVE act even though the vast majority of Americans, even in your district, want it passed. Are we to assume you are only there for yourself?

@Rossputin @willchamberlain @josh_hammer @EdGallrein The words the parties use are designed to build a strong voting block. It’s fairly obvious, especially so in light of the difference between congress and the people on the SAVE act, that the parties no longer exist to help anyone but themselves. Cynical but, hard to disprove.

Well, I guess what counts is winning for Republicans these days is beating other Republicans since in any swing seat or swing state, Democrats are highly likely to win in the general election. I'm so proud to be on affiliated and not a member of either the stupid party or the evil party although the two are blending somewhat now.

Washington Republicans are trying to make it harder for you to vote. Not non-citizens — you. The SAVE Act would prevent millions of Americans from exercising their constitutional right to vote. We should be making it easier for eligible citizens to participate in our elections, not harder. This bill does the opposite, and everyone in Washington knows it. The SAVE Act is not about election security. It is about disenfranchisement.

@SenateDems @SenAdamSchiff How would you handle a nation that killed 35K of its own citizens, was nearing acquisition of nuclear weapons and has clearly stated it wants to wipe Israel and the US off the face of the map? It’s unlikely negotiation would/will change their path.

@CaptMarkKelly There is nothing hard about using the 4 years between presidential elections to figure out how/where/when to vote. For that matter, 2 years are enough to come up with a workable plan. You’re making a convenience argument, not a difficulty argument.

Arizonans have been voting by mail for over 30 years, including a majority of Republicans, Democrats, and independents. It’s simple and secure. But Washington Republicans are trying to change that because they want to make it harder to vote. It’s wrong, plain and simple.

@SenatorBennet That is the law and it must be followed. Are you saying we should just ignore a nation that is so deranged and evil it will kill 35K of its own people? One that also wants to develop nuclear weapons and has stated definitively it wants to wipe Israel and the US off the map?

Today is 60 days since President Trump launched his reckless war in Iran.  Under the War Powers Resolution, the President must withdraw U.S. forces after 60 days without congressional authorization — which we have not granted.  Several Republican Senators have recognized this deadline. Now, they must finally join us in voting to rein in President Trump's war.
Michael Bennet@SenatorBennet

We cannot give another penny to President Trump's war. Republicans must join us in passing the upcoming War Powers Resolution to end his war. We need to stop Trump from playing the world’s judge, jury, and executioner.

A Supreme Court so fundamentally hostile to the rights of minority voters places the Court at odds with democracy itself. This is the legacy of Chief Justice John Roberts. I opposed his nomination back in 2005, and I stand by that.

@BarackObama It’s not ok to gerrymander voters out of their impact. Allowing partisan gerrymandering means the end of equality in voting. You don’t really care about that, your real problem with it is potential loss of control to do what you want.

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

I still have a scar on the back of my calf from when I was driving a three wheeler and my foot came off the peg, my leg got caught by the back tire which yanked me off and then it ran over me. It was the recreational vehicle that made it possible to run over yourself. So maybe that.

After years of media calling Trump Hitler and a threat to democracy, a gunman just tried to storm the Correspondents’ Dinner where Trump and those same reporters were gathered. They just got a small taste of what their rhetoric has been inspiring. Maybe now they’ll understand the consequences of their words.
