@cogpaul35

Recently informed my teenage membership of the Boy's Brigade has made me a war criminal as they are now proscribed as the Hitler Youth wing of Methodists.

Ode to the Nation Let me be clear My number 1 priority In this Government of service Is delivering the British people From the Tory black hole. I will take no lessons As my Dad was a toolmaker And it never crossed my desk And he lied to me.

Normally, I can laugh at the tripe @Keir_Starmer puts out, or is put out, in his name, but this has made my blood boil. I'm so angry, I don't even know where to start. Make no mistake, this hasn't been written by one of his little SpAds - this has his paw marks all over it. The first really telling paragraph is this 👇one: "This government will reshape our nation. Over the coming weeks, through the King’s speech and beyond, we will set out our agenda of radical reform – with activist, interventionist government building a stronger and fairer country." That's right, interventionist, code for meddling, interfering, intrusive, as if there is much more that he & his grievance-filled, incompetent, economically illiterate government could meddle in. Then after the usual bo**ocks about inflation, borrowing, interest rates and debt being down & wages and living standards up before "the war," we get to the heart of the matter - undoing Brexit. Apparently, "The world has changed since 2016" - no sh*t, Sherlock. According to Starmer: "...Brexit today looks quite different. It has damaged our economy and there’s no doubt in my mind where the national interest lies..." So, guess who is flitting out of the country, again, to attend a summit to "take this forward"? Brexit hasn't damaged the UK - a Left leaning, pro EU Parliament, who refused to use our freedoms, did that. According to Starmer, we have a choice between sinking "into the politics of grievance and division," or rising "to this moment – together – in a national effort that matches the scale of the threats and turbulence we face." (I wonder whose speech he nicked that from?) How dare you, Starmer, talk about grievance & division. You started it by sneering at anyone who doesn't share your love of the bloated, corrupt EU. You continued it by calling anyone concerned about illegal migration "Far Right." You ignored the concerns of the vast majority about the hate marches & blatant antisemitism going on until you were forced in the last few days to acknowledge it. You reward terrorists by recognising a state without making it a condition that they lay down their arms. You invite another terrorist to 10 Downing Street despite the fact that the killing of ethnic & religious minorities was going on in his country at the time. You prevaricate over the banning of the IRGC. What are you waiting for Keir? Even your beloved EU has banned them. While you're at it, ban the Muslim Brotherhood. And don't even get me started on how you are decimating our countryside with that lunatic and his #NetZeroMadness , farms, family & small businesses, etc. So, we must build a stronger, fairer country, must we? Not with you at the bloody helm we won't.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

We must build a stronger country if we are to build a fairer country. That is the mission of my government and the promise of change that we will deliver. observer.co.uk/news/opinion-a…

@DawnNeesom Given the alleged evil nature of the Jewish people can anyone tell me the last time a radicalised Jew in the UK attacked a place of worship, destroyed ambulancces, raped a child, stabbed pedistrians, assaulted a girl on a night out etc etc? Looks a little bit one sided to me...

@JustMisogyny I once applied for a teaching post at Oxford. Looks like I dodged a bullet there. However, as my research area was cognition in sexual offending I guess I would have had access to an unexpected new pool of research participants.

@LizKershawDJ @LeedsUniUnion Studied and taught at Leeds for twenty years and too many gigs to mention but ZZ Top, UFO, Rory Gallagher and Sisters of Mercy are burned into my memory as much as my PhD viva and the brilliant academics that taught me. Still pissed I missed Blue Oyster Cult and BB King.

Textbook, almost Trump-like, apophasis from Sir Philip Barton: "I am worried that everyone’s going to think that the centre of government spends its whole time conniving behind the backs of everyone else in government."

@DreyfusJames Years ago a lecturer at a UK university dressed as a bumble bee to give his lectures to try and get medical retirement and was suspended as mentally unwell. If he tried that today he would be promoted to vice chancellor.

It’s the students who won’t be able to say a darn thing about this that I feel for. If you flatter & validate, it’s out of fear. If you object in any way, you’ll be cast out as a ‘bigot’. If you’re silent, you’ll eventually be tested. The only person who triumphs is him.

I am pleased to share that Leeds University have made available the Refectory in which so many top bands played iconic gigs booked by our Andrew. (And before) We will now be holding his memorial there with special guest musicians ahead of his funeral in Leeds. Details to follow.

@DrChrisParry What a world we live in when civil servants are better at politics than the politicians. Mind you he is yet another PPE graduate so will be well schooled in the dark arts.

It's rumoured that Keir Starmer is looking for retail work, in case he's booted from office this week. What store would be the best fit for his skills?
