Hearing all these HS coaches getting forced out by parents makes me wonder how long before HS sports are intramural’s? Everyone will just play travel sports.

@drdwalker1 @TravisBOUND The "WIAA" rules are proposed and voted on by the schools. If you ont llike them the schools have to propose and pass new ones. the WIAA people do NOT create rules

I can only reply this way because apparently my comment was atrocious enough for @TravisBOUND to block me! The WIAA has many out of date rules that don’t reflect the modern day beliefs/ landscape. I feel comfortable saying that majority of the state would agree with this!

@TravisBOUND That’s all you have to say? Looks like the state just lost a great coach and mentor. Couldn’t imagine my kids coach being forced to quit mid season, especially if they were a senior! Time to wake up and admit the WIAA is a joke!! I’m sure these rules are broken almost weekly!!

WIAA rules do not allow coaches to coach their players during the school year, outside the sports season.
It appears Marquette HS baseball coach Sal Bando violated this rule and thus was forced to resign to avoid punishments for players or the team.
