I will say, less ironically, I do understand wanting to create without being beholden to your audience. Everything I’ve ever posted, here or tumblr, has been stuff I thought was cool, funny, or interesting. Rarely do I submit to any form of extrospection. Also helps I’m a nobody.

People are frequently in my DMs inquiring about a Substack or newsletter and this is *exactly* why I don’t do it. Definitely has nothing to do with me being lazy and uninspired. It’s a question of credibility and tradition, and I dare not go against the machine. Again, not lazy.

For the 2nd year, Michael McDermott will play as the official Masters “Marker” with Tom Kim at 950am. Beyond this ceremonial role, he does a LOT for golf in Philadelphia, particularly through “The GolfBridge Society” - a mentorship program he founded for high school students.
