As a proud Iowan - let me brag about the golf in my state. Iowa is a flyover state. We only have 3.2 million people. We don't have any Top 100 golf courses (CRCC and Davenport CC should be). But we love golf. We can't get enough of it. Iowa has the third most golf courses per capita of any state in the US. Every town has a nine-hole golf course - it is part of the community. Men's leagues are stacked with golfers. A town of 2,000 people will have 100 people in its men's league. And two native Iowans are Captains for the Walker Cup and Ryder Cup next month. Mike McCoy - a businessman from Des Moines, won the US Mid-Am in 2013. Now he captains the Walker Cup. Zach Johnson - a humble guy from Cedar Rapids, wasn't even the best kid on his High School Golf Team. And Zach - he is what Iowa is all about. An underdog that will outwork you. I couldn't be more pumped up to watch these two guys represent America next month.
