@Aaron_Torres My apologies! I dont want to assume anything. I’ll tell my friends who sent me this they’re wrong. I was just in Lawrence last week and a handful of “sources close to the situation” told me that the narrative is wrong. 🤷🏼 but really Flury for DPOY bc he ballin!
English

@colea45 The delusion you have to have to assume i was talking about you 🤣🤣
I was actually referencing the BYU game, where anyone questioning him playing the entire first half while sitting the entire second half was treated like someone who needed to be burned at the stake
English

Few weeks ago, I and a select few media were the "bad guys" for questioning Darryn Peterson.
Tonight, his own coach called him out.
Not sure if he hates to compete, only wants to play when he's 100 percent healthy - but his behavior is *not* normal.
It hasn't been all year
Henry Greenstein@HenryGreenstein
Self on Peterson: "I didn't anticipate that tonight at all. I thought he was good to go. But we only got 18 minutes out of him. That's disappointing because he could have had a really good night."
English

@psa2rpa Because I’ve been there. I’ve had the same pressure as DP to play through illness/injury and family death. I understand what he’s going through and until you’ve lived those feelings you won’t ever understand. So why wouldn’t I defend him?
English

@colea45 You are a former Kansas student-athlete defending a KU student-athlete’s shortcomings
Inherent bias there

I was about to say never trust an NBA scouting take from an account named after Cole Aldrich
Then I realized this is actually Cole Aldrich 😂
Cole Aldrich@colea45
@Aaron_Torres Thank God you’re not in a postion to make those decisions. Especially when you think his stock is plummeting. He clearly showed he was the best player on the floor against AJ. To create a narrative like that is uncalled for.
English

@BoomerJanowski @Aaron_Torres I’m a fan just like you and want to see him play but to put him out there sick/injured isn’t fair. Still waiting for coaches/teammates to say anything negative about the guy. He has insurance policy so draft doesn’t matter much (to me)
English

@colea45 @Aaron_Torres Cole I have a question, is it unreasonable to think with the various injuries, not finishing games, etc added with the salary slotting that #1 overall is too much of a risk. Top 3-5 for sure. But there are questions right? Rock Chalk!
English

@JayhawkTalk Please reread what you said... You want him to get fluids, play 4 minutes, puke in a timeout and call it a day? All to say he tried? Didn’t he try by getting dressed and going through warmups? Please stop..
English

@Aaron_Torres You had no problem questioning if he was injured of not so I felt it was safe to think you would question his competitiveness since he didn’t play 2nd half of a game they won.
English

@colea45 Where did I question his competitiveness? I just said I wouldn't take him No. 1 overall - especially in a draft where there are three other elite talents, who *no one* questions their competitiveness (Wilson, Dybantsa, Boozer)
English

@franfraschilla @KUHoops Fran, people want to point a finger at a guy instead of celebrating a team who has continued to achieve greatness through adversity. Game doesn’t get postponed because a guy is hurt/sick. Guys step up and kick ass like they did. Thats wtf you do at Kansas.
English

Who knows how the Darryn Peterson saga ends at @KUHoops but Melvin Council, Jr.’s spirit will live on in Kansas long after he leaves. He’s left his indelible print on his one season.
English

@soccerboxr @Aaron_Torres So he should play injured? With potential to get more hurt and miss more games so you can bash the dude more? 🤔
English

@Aaron_Torres @colea45 I wouldn’t draft him. Don’t care how good he might be. Don’t want the selfishness on my team. There are other choices.
English

@Aaron_Torres Please don’t question a guys competitiveness. You loose to UNC (top 25), UConn (5th), Duke (5th), UCF (bad loss). I too am a fan and want to see him play but to say he should play through injury or illness is potentially making him get more injured
English

@colea45 I dont think it's "creating a narrative" by saying that he sat out arguably Kansas' three most high-profile games (Arizona, UConn, Duke) and didn't even *attempt* to come back in as his team was blowing a 20-point lead in the second half vs. BYU.
Those are just facts, brother 👍
English

@GoodmanHoops @TheFieldOf68 Jeff, people don’t understand what it takes to compete at this level. No way he should be in a jersey if he is in a position to further injury/illness. And if anyone has kids they know there is a bug going around.
English

One NBA GM to @TheFieldOf68 about Darryn Peterson:
"I think people are overreacting. I don't know if anyone has enough info yet. It's not that big of a deal to me if he can play the last month of the season. We've got guys in the NBA who miss 2 months with a strained hamstring.
A lot of guys would have shut him down for the rest of the season already. People have to pump the brakes. People get the flu.
People also have to remember this is just a small snapshot of his entire career.
I think he's still probably the No. 1 pick, but we'll see."

I asked Scooter’s two Academic All-Americans to weigh in on his legacy. These two studs were also among the 35 Academic All-Big 12 selections he helped produce — more than any other school. One of many impressive parts of his incredible legacy. Love you, Scoot! ❤️
English

@NoPantsCrunch Why you still hating? That shit was 7 years ago..I played 13 games under 2 minutes. What the fuck am I suppose to do in :54 seconds? You want to finally admit the trade was good or you still in denial?
