My team finally got ahold of @paswinton bags. The cognitive load reduction for pre-hospital emergency anaesthesia is remarkable! Combined with the airway bag it feels like decision to ready to go in under 10 minutes. #remoteparamedic #remotenurse #PHEA

@JessicaSpara If you are looking to specialize in remote practice and/or delivering care in under developed countries I would recommend @theCoROM MSc in Austere Critical Care. Plus it provides you a more global insight into medicine I would suspect other programs don’t have

@medicboogie IM Ketamine has been proven to be safe, where providers seem to drop the ball is not using any monitoring afterwards and not having basic airway gear nearby. Treat it like procedural sedation in regards to monitoring.

@IamJayTulk @rachelgemma90 Why phenylephrine as your vasoactive choice? I mean I love it in certain cases don’t get me wrong but I’m curious. Is it the push aspect?

This is a new concept that I created to address the heat loss problem and to provide something comfortable under the casualty. I am still in the design phase. This weekend, I saw it used in action at the @theCoROM

One of the many benefits of doing education overseas is learning how other providers approach common goals. The Hungarian Air Ambulance Method of pre/apnoeic oxygenation is one example! No more fighting the nasal cannula. #intubation #hems #paramedic @theCoROM

Transport friends, When you are calculating oxygen consumption for a transport: what do you use as your safety factor (ie how much more oxygen do you need than you predict you'll use)? Does your program have this written as a policy or is it left to individual crew discretion?

@agwalker01 Here’s our newly jazzed-up scope of practice matrix. Available in the “further information” section of our CPG. We trust our MICA paramedics with a comprehensive, evidence based, up-to-date scope of practice.

We’ve had some pretty cold days the last few days: I’d love to hear from people who regularly transport patients by aircraft in extreme cold weather on techniques or recommendations to help keep IV lines from freezing. I know someone here has this dialed

I’ve been in lots of remote clinics around the country and this is the first time I’ve seen this awesome @30secondsout mindset. Having been on both sides of the medevac phone nothing is guaranteed until help is in the room so plan as if it’s not coming.
