@pushpak1300 Not sure if my GH issue prompted this, but once I got the command working it was great, but this was my first interaction with Boost and the inclusion in the general Laravel docs assumed a level of base knowledge that non-AI developers won't have.

I think there’s been a bit of misunderstanding around the Laravel 13 upgrade command. The goal wasn’t to replace any existing tools or services. Developers can already take the upgrade guide, feed it to AI, and get their apps upgraded pretty smoothly. What we wanted to do was make that process more reliable, and easier out of the box. That’s the only reason this was shipped. No intention to harm or compete with any services. Just smoothing something people are already doing.

@laravelphp I might be missing something obvious, but how does one "run /upgrade in Laravel Boost"? I asked Claude, it said that wasn't a command. I tried php artisan boost:upgrade, but that's also not. php artisan boost /upgrade also doesn't work, so how do I do this?

Laravel 13 is here. This update focuses on AI-native workflows, stronger defaults, and more expressive developer APIs. If you're running Laravel 12 or higher you can run /upgrade in Laravel Boost and have your agent upgrade your app for you.

@joshpizpom @GabyMcKay > On Sunday night a blaze at 150 Union Street, adjacent to Central Station, spread to other buildings in the area, with the loss of listed structures. The shop was at 105 Union Street, and the fire was completely contained to the one building and prevented from spreading.

@barryvdh I had new PHP files in public directory, and a script in /tmp running that recreated index.php with a backdoor whenever it was edited or deleted.

This Livewire RCE (>=3; < 3.6.4) is now actively being abused with an exploit available; securityonline.info/critical-flaw-… Hearing reports of: - new php files in public folder with backdoors - perl scripts active processes - weird jobs in the queue Check your version and update!
Barry vd. Heuvel@barryvdh

Don't forget to update Livewire 3 as soon as possible! Not sure what the issue is exactly, but you probably want to have this security update live before it's public knowledge; github.com/advisories/GHS…

Why is @CostaCoffee using poor quality AI wall decor in their coffee shops? Surely they can afford to support a real artist instead of this slop

@PovilasKorop I would use a variation of 1 - Auth::user()->projects()->create(...) 2 and 3 assume new projects will always be owned by the current user which may not be a safe assumption.

Laravel tip. For simple multi-tenancy projects, you can auto-set the `user_id` from the logged-in user, in THREE ways: 1. In Controller 2. In Model `booted()` 3. In Observer Which one do you prefer? P.S. I've started re-shooting VIDEOS for my Laravel multi-tenancy course.

@1stevengrant @aarondfrancis @enunomaduro I deployed a project using SQLite for the first time recently and it was a conscious decision not to allow myself to query the prod database directly. It's made me put more effort into the admin panel, and if all goes wrong I can still scp at a last resort!

for those of you using SQLite in production, how are you getting visibility of that database? I can't get TablePlus to connect to any remote SQLite databases. cc @aarondfrancis @enunomaduro

This thread is actually hysterical, and quite worrying how many “electricians” don’t really seem to understand how fuses and overcurrent protection work But it seems that, definitively, BS7671 allows a 13A outlet on a lighting circuit.. facebook.com/share/p/1E93Sg…

Things that give professions a bad name #223 … interesting debate on Facebook about installing socket on a lighting circuit. Unconventional I admit, but I’m struggling to see what it contravenes in BS7671 Amazing to see electricians saying “you can’t put 13A on a 6A circuit”

Warning to all EV drivers out there, never coil up the cable like this because the inductance may cause the cable to melt.

@cybergibbons I take three kids in my e-Golf every morning. Would all 5 of us fit? Not until the youngest is in a narrower car seat in a couple years and there’s space for 3 in the back. A family of 4 could easily get by with one, even going on holiday if you add a roof box.

An SUV driver: “I disagree because I have a child so I do have to have a bigger car. My mother is really old. If she needs a GP appointment or dentist, I have to take her." I hate to break it to you, but last time I checked we could fit three adults and a kid in a VW Golf.

Should you pay more for parking for a big car? Yes, of course. You regularly see vehicles that don't fit in spaces. You pay for parking because it's a limited resource. Pay more if you use more. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

The iCal protocol is surprisingly simple and adding this was only around 100 lines of code, echoing out the required lines:
