@collin303

Landscape and population geneticist mostly interested in plants but dabble in other things. Also a level 6 bard.

@RobLanfear Papers/readcube. I haven't used the collab feature because they all need to be users. Costs $$ too. But should work on theory.

I'm pretty terrible at sharing the research I've been involved with on here, but some great colleagues and I have spent time testing the effects of different filtering parameters on GEA results. Revealing some pretty interesting results. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…

@alpapan @jwwhale Multiple testing is controlled for in the GEAs, each GEA has their own form of p-value corrections. GDMs are generally for postdoc analysis.

@ecolology asked a question re: GDMs but we ran out of time in the Q&A session. I'll try to not be too technical - but I'll probably FAIL!!. Q: Why are GDMs better than other spatial models, and which data types are used? 1/n

@_erikaroper Great pic! Love those little beasts, even if the first question an expert asks for ID purposes is "where did you collect it?"

Fieldwork is a whole lot more fun when a phenotyping robot is involved. This little guy makes it so that I can collect data on the 8,000+ plants in my field experiment in under half an hour!

How to revise: As an editor and author I have seen many revised papers return to journals. Given effort, most go well (ie step toward acceptance). Some go pear-shaped. I’ve slowly improved and have an approach known by my group as the ‘Breakspear method”. Here is its essence
