I can't help being a little perplexed that a nasty Covid virus travels around the world from China, mutates, brings the world to its knees while China miraculously beats it with severe lockdowns that the Western world then copies to our chagrin to then return to China in a milder

The Canada–Ukraine relationship has never been stronger. Today, we announced $270 million in new military support for Ukraine—because Ukraine’s security is integral to global security. As Russia’s aggression continues, Canada remains steadfast in its commitment to stand with Ukraine. #SlavaUkraini

And yet , there they were , lined up last March doing their chicken dance, strutting their way to the ballot box, Elbows Up … despite the country being Ankles Up
J@nostalgiaghost1

@GasPriceWizard Many billions of tax dollars have been burned on the alter of NetZero. Living standards have been lowered in service to it. Nobody discusses the result achieved because this assault on abundance has done nothing to effect the planetary climate. It only affects people.

Helen Andrews drops a massive truth bomb on the collapse of modern institutions. She confirms that as organizations became demographically female they abandoned objective rules and justice for emotional consensus. The establishment traded competence for blind compliance.

Mexico is ahead of us again because they understand leverage while Carney is still performing sophistication for CBC viewers. Carney says rushed deals with the U.S. are not “worth the paper they were written on.” Fine. But what is his better plan? Canada cannot negotiate by vibes, press clips, and globalist TED Talk energy. We need clear leverage: energy, critical minerals, autos, agriculture, pipelines, ports, defence production, and North American supply chains. Poilievre is right to ask what leverage Canada is actually using. Carney reportedly rejected calling energy and critical minerals “leverage” in the talks, which is exactly the problem. Those are not side issues. They are the cards in Canada’s hand. Meanwhile, Mexico is already moving to protect its own industries, including requiring federal projects to use domestically produced steel after U.S. steel and aluminum tariffs. That is what serious countries do. They protect capacity. They bargain from strength. They don’t confuse delay with strategy. So yes, calling out Trump’s bluster may feel emotionally satisfying. But Canada needs more than clever lines. We need a government that knows what it has, knows what it wants, and knows how to use pressure without apologizing for it. Right now, Mexico looks like it understands that better than Ottawa.

PM Carney: “A lot of countries rushed into deals with the US—they weren’t really worth the paper they were written on.” I love the way Mark Carney calls out Trump’s performative bullshit. This is what I voted for.

Now that the Liberals have secured a majority government, and there are no elections in sight, using Chantal Hébert’s expression, so tonight you would like us to believe that all of a sudden four Liberal-funded panelists woke up with a personal initiative to call out Carney and his Liberals… I find that hard to believe. Journalists like these four are the reason why Canada is in such a hellhole. These four are the reason the CBC is no longer relevant, has lost all credibility, and is now considered a mere Liberal tool.

Jamieson Greer is trumps new Cusma (USMCA) negotiator. He will not be friendly to Canada. I trust our Prime Minister, Dominic LeBlanc and the rest of our team give him the rough ride they deserve. I back Canada 100% . Energy and minerals are our calling card. If the deal gets ‘caught up’ - we’ll wait it - out even if it hurts - because Trump is a narrow thinking bully but he will not bully us!! This WE promise!!!🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

The UAE comparison is stupid. Alberta is not a city-state petro-monarchy with no Canadian equalization system, no federal choke points, no Canadian regulatory maze, no Ottawa climate policy burden, and no confederation politics bleeding value out of its resource sector. Also, Alberta doesn’t “ship” 4.4 million barrels a day as a normal average. Alberta hit about 4.1 million barrels per day in 2025, with December reaching around 4.4 million barrels per day. Big difference. Facts matter, even on X. Yes, Alberta’s projected $9.4 billion deficit is bad. But even Reuters reported the main driver was lower global oil prices hammering resource revenues, not some simple “UCP forgot how schools work” cartoon. Alberta’s budget is heavily exposed to royalty swings, population growth, infrastructure pressure, health care costs, and federal policy friction. And here’s the part your post dodges: Alberta’s energy sector helps fund the rest of Canada. When progressives attack oil, block pipelines, add carbon costs, delay projects, then complain Alberta is not Dubai, they are basically kicking the vending machine and whining that no snacks came out. So no, this is not “awesome management.” But it is also not the simple little dunk you think it is. Alberta’s problem is not that it has oil. Alberta’s problem is that Canada found a way to make even world-class resources harder to turn into lasting wealth.

Amazing. Alberta ships about 4.4 million barrels oil per day. The United Arab Emirates ships 3.1 million a day. They are fantastically wealthy. Alberta and the UCP can’t figure out how to build schools and provide healthcare, and runs a $9.4 billion deficit. Awesome management.

16 years and I still get a little sad when the season is over (at least for me). The ebbs and flows of following a contender never get old. Thanks for watching, listening, and perhaps most importantly, caring. My job is a privilege I don’t take lightly. Until we meet again…
