Our way. The Texas way. The future of film is TEXAS! Let’s show the world what Texas is made of #comeandfilmit

If HB4568/SB22 passes, Texas towns could see millions in local spending from TEXAS-MADE film productions—supporting jobs for electricians, carpenters, police, restaurants, hotels & more. Every $1 invested returns over $4 to our economy. #ComeAndFilmIt #SB22 #HB4568 #txlege @joanhuffman @toddahunter

SB 22 has passed the Senate! Our deepest thanks to @joanhuffman & @DanPatrick for their powerful leadership and heartfelt support. Their words today captured exactly why media production should be a leading Texas industry. #texaslege #supportsb22 #supporthb4568 #madeintexas

The bill #sb22 creates a fund to keep Texas movies in Texas. Currently these productions (even films set in TX like No Country for Old Men have to film in New Mexico, Georgia, Canada, etc). Texas is the only state in the union without a long-term film program. We’re losing billions in economic impact, thousands of jobs, and control of our own stories. The bill would change that. It takes tax from businesses to create this fund. The ROI is “for every $1 spent on the film program, $5 in economic impact is created”. These numbers come from an economic impact study conducted by the Gov office. The Gov office has to approve each film and the film must meet quality standards. Films are denied if they showcase TX in a negative light, egregious nudity, etc. The goal is for TX to have a bigger say in media (instead of letting Cali have all the control) and instill TX values and TX culture into along the way.
