It has been a tiring few days. I’ve worked so hard to create a safe and welcoming environment for my community. But simply existing as not only a woman but a Mexican American woman in the Pokémon community right now feels hard.

@Thatonefinemf Yep. The codes were released alongside the new Mega Evolution TCG set, so all the scalpers that lined up for that release also grabbed all the codes because each Gamestop only got around 50.

Starting to see the FREE codes on ebay for $25+. I cannot begin to express my disgust and anger towards the people who have turned this wholesome hobby into a cash crab. Other countries have limitless physical distributions. It ALSO could’ve been digital. What are we doing man?

@ToppoWoppo So many of the codes are just going to sit around unsold on Ebay and then get tossed when they expire. It's so frustrating.

Also when I was waiting on line to get the shiny codes a girl was walking out after buying TCG packs & said to her boyfriend who was accompanying her “I got this shiny code I’ll keep it in case I ever get the game” The codes expire on 10/24 Rip that code I guess lol

@Bambi_istired It's only a very recent thing too. It never used to be like this other than that blip of TCG popularity in 2021. It sucks.

I will never understand why Gamestop in the US gets a set amount of code cards for events causing stock issues and reselling. In the UK and parts of Europe, for events like these, the cash registers just print them out from their servers so they don't run out. It's much better.

I love going into EB Games/GameStop just to be told they ran out of codes for Shiny Miraidon/Koraidon and then seeing them being sold on eBay for $70 just hours after they release 🙃

@norainthefuture The fact that this event was supposed to last a month and the vast majority of stores ran out in hours is ridiculous.

if this is going to be the only printing of shiny miraidon & koraidon codes i am incredibly upset on behalf of the folks who haven’t been able to get one. this absolutely should not be a limited distribution.

@SerebiiNet The people in the countries where these codes did release can't get them either. The codes got scalped like crazy and most stores ran out immediately.
