Trump declares almost 50% of Americans to be public enemy number one – right after Iran.
This is no longer politics; this is open civil war from the mouth of a president. Anyone who brands half of their own people – millions of ordinary Americans who simply vote differently – as the "greatest enemy" hasn't understood America; Trump hates it.
This rhetoric isn't "tough," it's treacherous. It destroys precisely what makes America strong: the idea that Americans, despite all their differences, are one nation.
Trump has just proven that he doesn't want to be president of all Americans – but merely the leader of a faction that considers the rest the enemy.
Insane. And extremely dangerous.

Illinois is on its way to being the best state in the nation to live and raise a family — and that starts with buying a home.

@KurtSupeCPA How do they pay for the taxes on the conversion? If they didn’t have cash to cover the taxes, the appeal of the Roth conversion may be diminished as it takes longer to recoup the amount that paid out from the IRA. I’m sure you had some cash liquidity in the scenario

A couple 58 and 59 years old
Both executives at large corporations
Decades of climbing the ladder
Here is their situation
Combined income: $280,000
401k balances: $2M
Brokerage account: $540,000
Home: paid off
Pension: none
Healthcare: unplanned until Medicare at 65
Social Security: planning to claim at 62
They were exhausted
Both wanted to walk away from their jobs today
Their question to me was simple
Can we retire right now
Most advisors would run a Monte Carlo simulation and hand them a number
We did something different
First we told them to stop planning to claim Social Security at 62
Waiting until 67 would add over $1,100 a month per person for the rest of their lives
Then we built a healthcare bridge using their brokerage account to cover the gap until Medicare at 65
Then we started Roth conversions immediately to shrink the IRS's share of that $2.1 million before RMDs hit
They had the green light to retire
But the real work was building a plan to maximize every dollar
Most people spend 30 years focused on saving the money
Very few have a plan to maximize it once it is time to use it

I am saddened to hear the news of the passing of Lou Holtz. Covering Notre Dame Football when he was Head Coach was a fascinating experience. I learned a great deal about leadership listening to him and watching him work. And I am among the legions of people who Lou came through for at a time I needed his help. Prayers for his terrific family that it has been an honor to get to know over the years.

There are moments in life when words just aren’t enough. Losing Coach Holtz is one of those moments.
Coach was so much more than a football coach to me. He was family. I still remember the day he came to my house to recruit me. He didn’t just sit down and talk to me about football or what I could do on the field. He talked to me as a young man. And he spoke to my mom the way a man should speak to a mother who was trusting someone with her son. He looked her in the eye and promised that I would be taken care of at Notre Dame. That moment meant everything to us, and it’s something I’ve carried with me my entire life.
Coach Holtz believed in people. He believed in building men, not just players. He welcomed my entire family into the Notre Dame family and always made sure we felt that love and support. That’s who he was. He cared deeply about the people around him, and he made every one of us feel like we mattered.
The lessons he taught me went far beyond football. His faith, his discipline, his belief in doing things the right way shaped who I became as a man, a father, and a leader.
My heart is broken today, but I’m also filled with gratitude for the time I had with him and for the impact he had on my life. Coach will always be with us—in the lessons he taught, in the lives he changed, and in the love he gave so freely.
Thank you for everything, Coach. I love you.
You will forever be in our hearts.
