Museveni's Advisor #Engola Endorses Gen @mkainerugaba for President, Says Youths have Decided Written by @PlusNewsUg Senior Presidential Advisor on Lango Affairs, Hon Sam Engola, says he has no option other then supporting Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba's bid for the office of the President since the young people have already decided. He made the remarks on Monday at the Mayor's gardens in Lira town, during the launch of MK Army Chapters in the ten districts of Lango Subregion. "We welcome Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba - the Standby Generator, to Lango Subregion. The youths have made their voices clear that they have their standby generator, and so in case President says he will not stand, we are ready to rally behind Gen Kainerugaba," Hon Engola said. The former Minister for Housing was also appointed as the Patron and Guardian of the MK Movement in Lango Subregion. He explaind that he was appointed for purposes of ensuring peace. He said if President Milton Obote came into leadership at the age of 35 only and in 1962 when Adoko Nekyon became a minister he was just 28 years only, why not Gen Kainerugaba who is about toale 50. On his part, Dr Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, the MK Movement National Vice Chairman Western Uganda, proposed to have a seven-member team of elders to the MK Movement on issues of Lango do that the area can be transformed. The team, he proposed, should include Hon Omara Atubo, Hon. Cecilia Ogwal Atim (Dokolo Woman MP), Hon Okot Ogong and Mr Ben Wacha. Last month, Lt Gen (Rtd) Jim Beesigye Owoyesigire said him and a crop of other retired Generals including President Yoweri Museveni are aging, thus the need for able and trusted young leaders to take over leadership and further their contribution for a better Uganda. “Gen Museveni is retired, I am retired and many of our colleagues. This is the reason we are backing Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the country’s next President. Uganda has come a long way and so it now requires a patriotic and able leader to prevent it from sliding back to where we found it,” Gen Owoyesigire said on Saturday. He said Gen Kainerugaba is the deal and that whoever has doubts should interpret ‘the readings on the wall’.
