@dewars_water @Clevta Bad teams are unlikely to trade a lot for a 30 year old player.Teams that think they can contend after acquiring him would be the ones likely to make offers. Myles would also be likely to accept a trade to a contending team.

I’m no capologist but this Myles option push back smells. Smells a lot. There’s no reason to do it unless u are giving yourself flexibility to trade him. Someone who actually understands the cap tell me I’m looking at this wrong

Harden should make an all nba team but we all know what's going to happen so I'm not counting on it sadly

@AshNicoleMoss Maybe the stars should play 0 games so they never get injured? How many games should they play to earn their 50 million dollar a year contracts.

idk if the rule “isn’t working” — but i do think there needs to be a reasonable injury amendment made because the more you play … the higher the probability you’ll get injured. guys are essentially being punished for the very thing the league wants — for players to play.

@SportsBoyTony He didn't want out of Cleveland. He got traded because Harden keeps choking everywhere so Harden again asked to be moved to another team where he hopes someone can carry him to a title. The Cavs front office was dumb enough to buy in. It's only Harden's 4th time doing this?

No, DG wasn’t milking the injured toe(s) to get out of Cleveland. Come on guys. Saying that means you’re saying he tanked the playoffs last year. Just stop. Clips already have one guy that made a career of that, no way they’d want two!

@KenCarman Clock it ticking. Harden is 36. The wall could hit any year at this point. Acting like you have years to keep growing is a bit crazy.

If the Cavs lost a tough series against the Celtics in the ECF, there should be zero "defcon" talk. Discussions about improvement? Yes. But the trade would be working. Another full year ramp up with this group would have you feeling confident.

@FeartheFroPod Donovan can be solid defensively if he locks in. Seemed like he missed a lot of box outs last night. The problem is bad habits like not boxing out are hard to just overcome by saying you are going to increase effort come playoff time.

Fear the 'Fro: A Cleveland Cavs Podcast
Kenny’s not wrong about our defense backsliding, but Donovan and James aren’t getting benched, so it’s hard to take that as more than a desperate plea to lock in. We knew the tradeoffs with Harden. Shuffling the role players is putting lipstick on a pig to an extent.

@AmicoHoops Lol. Harden is their worst defender by far and Mitchell is probably next. Let me know when he removes them from the playoff rotation.

Cavs’ Kenny Atkinson after win over Magic: “I just told the team in the locker room, if we’re gonna defend like this, we’re gonna have a short playoff stint. Right now, we have the mentality that we’ll just outscore people. We all know come playoff time, it’s not that easy.”

@geoffschwartz For example, it would be much easier to have success in high school as a 17 year old sophmore and get on recruiters radars as a sophmore as opposed to a junior.

This isn’t new. Was happening when I was in high school and before. I understand the urge. College is expensive. Now there’s the NIL possibility as well. However I also believe your kid will either be good enough or not for a scholarship and holding them back doesn’t change much.

@RuiterWrongFAN Per AI - Las Vegas averaged roughly 740,000 to 800,000 visitors per week in 2025. Vacationers are more likely to go to live events then residents. Combine that with the static population and I think they will be ok.

An expansion NBA team $7-10 billion 🤯 Makes sense for Seattle. Vegas is a major gamble. Service-based economy market already oversaturated by NFL, NHL, WNBA and incoming MLB.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has approved a vote for the league to explore bids and applicants for expansion teams exclusively in Las Vegas and Seattle, sources tell ESPN. A bidding process is expected to generate offers in the $7-10 billion range for each team.

@CoachForGov How about a college coach can coach at two schools in their career, then they have to sit out for 5 years if they want to go to a 3rd school as coach.

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.
OutKick@Outkick

Exclusive: @CoachForGov introduces ‘Student Athlete Act Of 2026’ aimed at curtailing transfer portal chaos. It give athletes five years to play five seasons, while also penalizing a player 1 year for transferring a second time, he tells @OutKickHotMic outkick.com/sports/tommy-t…

@amyknowsball @lakelife5150 The prime years of superstars like MJ, Kobe and Lebron as well as things like the GS Warriors dynasty years will always bring in the casuals. More parity has always brought in lower ratings as the casuals lose interest.

@cornycharles @Betsycashmoney That's the way all TV is headed though, not just the NBA. More specialized selection of pay TV means that for any content, some people may choose not to pay at all while others pay more than they did under the old model where everyone just shared the cost for everything.

@cornycharles @Betsycashmoney It's not going to be reset. There may be adjustments due to RSNs dying as the NBA and teams figure out how to best monetize local TV, but that only caused lower estimates by 1 million. The fan interest is still there. Casuals may opt out entirely and true fans may pay more.

It's actually kind of incredible how every single person in the replies/quotes managed to misinterpret this tweet. The salary cap is rising slightly less than previously anticipated-- it is not "dropping." Because the death of RSNs (which was long anticipated) is finally here.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

The NBA has informed teams that the league is projecting a $165 million salary cap for 2026-27 -- $1M lower than previous outlooks due to a reduction in local media revenue, sources tell ESPN. Minimum salary $149M, tax level $201M, first apron $209M, second apron $222M also $1M lower each.
