Let’s start treating track like a sport and not an auxiliary…. It only makes the other sports better. Successful teams in the fall usually had success during spring in track. #IJS

Threw my 11-year-old 5th grader into a high school meet and he said, “Hold on… let me show you what I can do.” 😤🔥

Second meet of the season and I pr’d in the 400 with a time of 58.11 secs. Continuing to get better and can’t wait to see what the rest of the season brings.

Attention to detail is what separates the great from the good. While most athletes ignore the small details, the best athletes leave nothing to chance when it comes to their training, preparation, and performance.

The ultimate college visit checklist: ☐ Research coaches' names beforehand ☐ Prepare 5 specific questions ☐ Bring parent/guardian with you ☐ Take notes during conversations ☐ Get direct phone numbers ☐ Ask about next steps in recruiting process ☐ Send thank you email within 24 hours ☐ Follow up with game film within one week Save this before your first visit. Most athletes wing it. Prepared athletes get offered.

Don’t get bored with the process. Don’t get bored with the basics. Don’t get bored with small wins. Don’t get bored with progress. Keep showing up. Keep doing the work.

If your coach holds you accountable, you are VERY fortunate. A lot of coaches accept their players doing whatever they want, whenever they want with no consequences. Discipline/responsibility/accountability are life prep! If your coach cares that much, you’re lucky so respect it!

College Track and Field is NOT the backdoor to a football roster spot or football scholarship. I don’t know any coach at this level that will give your T&F money so you can spend all fall training with football, run indoors, then miss some outdoor meets to may be able to have a guy come back at the end of spring ball having missed most of the practice reps.
