it's beyond unbelievable to me that an abuser & rapist gets a warm happy send-off for the last week of classes, while victims & whistleblowers get put through hell (both socially AND thru university admin) for the simple act of speaking out and spreading awareness

sick and nauseous doesn't even begin to describe how it feels to see this school applaud for and celebrate a rapist. i hate it here.

oh by the way "innocent until proven guilty" means you shouldn't be thrown in prison without due process, it does NOT mean you're entitled to protection from social repercussions for what you did. presumption of innocence does not excuse associating with abusers

for the past several years we've all been on the same page about a *different* person here being creepy and predatory despite no "official" rulings to back it up, but now that the perpetrator is "charismatic" instead of neurodivergent he gets the benefit of the doubt... why?

if you're immediately willing to take "alleged" abusers at their word, but unwilling to believe victims, you seriously need to ask yourself why. why do you feel the need to prioritize their reputation over the safety and protection of the people they've hurt?

unfortunately this counts as a hot take in the LHSOM community, but i have zero sympathy for anybody who associates with predators and abusers. i don't care if the perpetrator is your friend, i don't care if you're bad at confrontation, there is no excuse for gaslighting victims.
