Go into tournament overly confident. Beat a couple lesser nations and then boast about how it’s “coming home.” Lose against the first decent team they play. Say they never expected to win it but next time it’s theirs. Rinse and repeat till the end of fucking time.

@HullCity1975 @bazdjcooper didn’t mind that one, tried to do what had got him there and through norway and mexico. but when it clearly wasn’t working and we couldn’t get out, he should’ve tried to get us some more control with saka/rashford and mainoo. instead he doubled down and finished with 6 defenders

Substitutions changed the game. Will never understand why Rashford or Saka weren’t brought on to get us up the pitch in that final 20 minutes. Went too defensive too early. We’ll always have the Azteca.

@OliviaBuzaglo once gordon came off kane was completely out of the game. far too deep and couldn’t get us out because of the lack of wingers. i can forgive konsa for gordon but when it clearly wasn’t working, it should’ve been saka for james and rashford for kane.

There was a 17 minute period from when we scored until Tuchel made that Konsa sub. I don’t believe Tuchel’s instructions in that 17 minutes after our goal was to defend deep. After the sub, yes but not before.
So did we try to carry on attacking & it just didn’t work? And we just naturally got deeper and deeper? What does everyone think?
