I’ve long accepted a digital future, but I didn’t think Sony would end disc production for PS5 so soon. I love physical games but I’m not “no disc no buy”. That being said, if I’m going to build a digital library it’s absolutely NOT going to be on PlayStation lmao.

GOG lets us burn our games on discs after we buy it so we can keep it forever.
GOG is for us gamers.

@RinoTheBouncer What really needs to happen is getting rid of DRM. I wish more people would bash on that. Because you don't really own the discs either because of it. Granted there's more freedom because you could just stop updating the console and stay offline and they could never block games.

@Scanner51 @utsavtechie Its more about game preservation and ownership. You own None of the game you have on console especially digitally. Thanks to DRM. They can remove and delete any of the games in your library and they have.

Sony faces a $450 million lawsuit in the Netherlands regarding its 2028 plan to discontinue physical PlayStation discs.

@benoski73 I dont think its over just yet. Sony is getting sued over this for $457 million lawsuit from a Dutch non-profit over its decision to end physical disc production. So some action is being taken. Plus we have two more years for them to change their mind. So we will see.

All the people who were complaining last week for PlayStation to keep physical games just jumped at the chance to buy the overpriced Black Ops ports on PS5 that DO NOT have a physical copy, directly contributing to the data PS is using to say u dont want Physical Games. Im tired
