Terrible flagrant 1 in the Virginia game. Offensive player travels and goes under the defender who’s in the air. And it’s a flagrant because his arm came down on the offensive players head. Don’t travel and go under a big man in the air if you don’t want to get hit.

The natural evolution of offense is for multiple ball handlers capable of creating and ball movement being more important than static pick and rolls. The top 4 teams in the Irish league all fit this model far more than the chasing pack.

A guy for High Point hadn’t scored a 2 all season, while scoring 68 threes. He just changed that with 10 seconds to go against Wisconsin to give them a 1 point lead. March Madness always delivers.

Been announced this evening that Flexachem KCYMS Killorglin's relegation playoff with Neptune will take place this Sunday at 3pm in the UL Arena in Limerick.

Pretty awful evening for Neptune as Eanna hammer them while resting players. The relegation playoff will see Neptune play their golden boy Jordan Blount to decide who goes down to NL. The last game was decided by a buzzer beater so it should be great.

Looks like Mike Hayes won’t play tonight and will rest for the potential playoff with Killorglin. He has been struggling with a hamstring injury. It takes some of the intrigue out of tonight.

@ballineurope Losing to Neptune from 18 up is not the prep Gareth and Eanna want before Tralee. There’s also a question from neptunes side. Hayes has been nursing a hamstring issue. Is it better to rest him for the playoff?

@conormeany Great piece. Worth wondering how Éanna approach Monday in terms of rest/rotations given it doesn't impact their playoff game

Talking points from the final weekend of the regular season: • Ballincollig seal top spot • Killester primed for run • Neptune back from the dead • Killorglin and Demons do their job. • 2 tiered playoffs on the way • Irish women’s big win irishexaminer.com/sport/otherspo…

We should have regular season awards, not just player of the year heavily influenced by who wins the league. Based only on the league season who has been MVP and Irish player of the year? Not an easy question this year.

@Ehorgan1 That is wrong. Tralee ucd and Vincent’s all tied so it goes to head to head between them. Tralee 4-0, Marian 2-2 and Vincent’s 0-4. So Tralee finish 5th, Marian 6th and Vincent’s 7th.

@MarkBartley95 Losing to Neptune over 3 qtrs by 18 is not the way Eanna want to prepare for their playoff game with Tralee 6 days later.

@conormeany It’s a nothing game for Eanna and an everything game for Neptune. If you’re Eanna are you playing to win or minding your players for the playoffs?..

Demons do their job and get out of a potential relegation playoff. So now it’s up to Neptune to see if they can come from 18 down away to Eanna to relegate Killorglin. It feels like the basketball gods are on Neptune’s side so who knows!
