@FranceskAlbs Let’s see if Ireland cares when they assume the EU presidency in July this year.

Among the reasons most EU states and EU institutions are quiet about Israel's daily slaughter of civilians in the region, is that they do not care: Lebanese, Palestinian, Iranian lives are disposable, their loss negligible.
And this is so wrong.
Immoral.
Illegal.
Irresponsible.

President Cyril Ramaphosa and global experts gathered at Wits University today to take a historic step, beginning the establishment of the International Panel on Inequality.
President Ramaphosa, who commissioned the first-ever G20 report on global inequality, delivered the keynote address on the global inequality emergency. The report, authored by an Extraordinary Committee of Experts chaired by Nobel Economics Laureate Professor Joseph Stiglitz, recommended establishing a panel modelled on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Representatives of the panel's founding governments; Brazil, Norway, South Africa, and Spain joined the committee in Johannesburg to discuss the urgent need for the panel and progress towards its founding.

“The whole of Africa lost something when he died. #OliverTambo was in a class of his own. We have lost a truly great man."
- President Kenneth Kaunda
Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the passing of #ORTambo, who, after dedicating his life to the struggle for South Africa's liberation, passed away one year before the first democratic elections.

@sherwiebp I just heard Ambassador Nkosi speak, impromptu, at a side panel discussion in Geneva I attended last week at the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent. He has a heart and a mind which deserves the highest respect. I was very impressed. Congratulations to Ambassador Nkosi.
