@ZorroOnda @bfredmuggs To my knowledge, many of that CN Flash unit remain in animation, as animators, story artists or directors. We proved that in-house animation was viable from both a cost and creative standpoint. It felt like we were at the start of a new wave of domestic production. Didn’t happen.

@ZorroOnda @bfredmuggs A bunch went to Wild Brain to do HBO’s Ricky Gervais Show. That production had the Foster’s team and the Mr. Men team, recently cut loose from Renegade.

Happy 20th to FOSTER’S! This was the first series we did entirely in flash. We had an in house unit animating as well as Boulder in Ireland. Can’t say enough about how great it was to have a team of animators on site creating. Wish we had done more series this way. Craig had a vision and we surrounded him win with a team and a plan to support it. CHEERS TO 20 YEARS!

If you put back an ACTUAL layout stage in TV animation, and have an actual animation direction, sure. But having a lot of time given to storyboarding, animatic and revision where everything is locked at the frame, is still the best way to have a smooth production.
