As part of our ongoing efforts to promote food safety, the CGA Team had the honor of presenting the Food Safety Training Manual for Street Food Vendors to the Nairobi City County Public Health Department Led by The Chief Officer, Mr. Tom Michira Nyakaba. This Manual has been developed Through a Partnership between Nairobi City County, @aphrc, The University of Nairobi, and the Consumer Grassroots Association. It aims at improving hygiene standards, Bring order and regulate the street food Vending , in Nairobi City County

Consumer Grassroots Association team joined a section of the National Technical committee on the implimentation of NAS-FST in paying a couryesy call to #Kilifi County leadership to explore collaboration opportunities for upcoming activities.

The process allowed consumers to report issues on rights violations like unsafe products and unfair food prices that prevent them from realising the right to food. The organizers and legal experts documented these concerns , offered immediate advice while committing to follow-up

During the event, they provided free legal advice to the public, with a strong focus on consumer rights and the right to food, while raising awareness about the importance of protecting consumers from unsafe practices and exploitation.

On 18th March 2026, the Consumer Grassroots Association organized Consumers Legal Aid Day, bringing together advocates from the Nairobi, Kiambu, and South Eastern chapters of the Law Society of Kenya.
