It's long overdue, but I'm beyond thrilled to share that I will be joining @UNCPsych as a Developmental Psychology PhD student under the mentorship of Prof Eva Telzer (@EvaTelzer ) this Fall. I'm grateful to have had an amazing support system through my journey.

You have missed Newton's point entirely
Read carefully, you'll see
He's saying miracles which are supernatural occurrences and what we call natural occurrences are both God's work - that's one of his basis for studying natural sciences
A miracle is then a miracle not only because it is God's divine act but because we do not see it in everyday occurrences like we see natural occurrences - it's comparative
You eat, jump, walk, talk, grow plants, swim, etc, all natural occurrences
But you walk on water, have food multiply, etc has gone beyond natural occurrences we see daily, so are miracles
Both are still the work of God
Infact, it was James Clark Maxwell, one of the most prominent Christian Physicist implied in his statements that soon, science will not only study regular natural occurrences we see, but also tend towards the irregular
Newton is saying they all reveal God's glory as we study
Fetuga John@FetugaJohn
Isaac Newton was free to have his opinion but that's contrary to scriptures and the will of God. God's will is for man to prosper in every area. Hence, God is not against the proliferation of miracles—rather, he wants the source examined. 1/6

PhD Mentorship Programs 🧵: Applying to graduate school in psychology is a highly personal process, and in my opinion, no amount of resources can replace 1:1 #mentorship. Luckily, there are several ongoing programs for students seeking this type of support. (1/8)

THE PHD JOURNEY IS OVER
I have thought of the best way to begin this post and for the first time in a long time, the words would not flow. Strange for someone who makes so much noise like me.
If you have followed my posts across my socials, you would have been taken on a journey that began in 2019. I posted every major milestone of my PhD, I posted my wins, my failures. The idea was to keep myself accountable and to inspire those who followed my story.
Today is a good day. The PhD is officially over.
I had a sentimental attachment to my PhD especially because when I was 15, my mother died of HIV. At 20 my dad followed. Researching and working in the area of HIV and infectious disease was personal. Anyways, this is story for another day.
Today is about celebration and thanksgiving. While a PhD can be a long and lonely journey, I remained active across all spheres of family, research, volunteering, teaching and supporting many others to winning scholarships too. The mantra was "Until we all win, no one has won". It remained so to the very end.
I send out my heartfelt thanks to all those who supported me through this PhD especially my darling beautiful Squeezim (@anizobazi ) who was a major reason for me starting and finishing this PhD. Thanks baby. To my most prized PhD publications, Zoe and Zita, thank you.
I am fortunate to have been supervised by 3 incredible women; Assoc. Prof. @endinequity, Dr. @jodurham19 and Prof. @DrAmymullens. Thank you.
Thank you to all friends and family who came on this long jourmey with me. For all those who I always cautioned not to call me Dr, from today, you have express permission to refer to me as Dr AAP😀.
Next steps:
1. Continue in the role I began 4 months ago as one of the Qualitative researchers in the Donor Research team of @lifebloodau.
2. Await my graduation ceremony in the coming months.
3. Continue to work on my manuscripts for publication.
If you are a qualitative researcher or student working in the area of HIV and Disability, my thesis is a good place to start. I did a fantastic job with that 312 paged document. As my people will say "I finish work for there"😀.
It is indeed over
