@dhh my grandpap shared this quote with me when I was a teenager. it stuck with me, but reading it decades on i’m hung up on the notion of strong/weak minds. What does it mean to be “weak-minded”?

@wardleymaps it’s a thought experiment - a trick for thinking about how likely an approach is to succeed. when i’ve floated the question to people, the thinking is often shifted from the existing (previously unchallenged ) approach. H/T to @HiredThought for #thinkinginbets book recommendation

@contemplatethis That is a very important question, but one has also to take into account wealth differences. Some projects (especially with a high reward/risk ratio) might have a prohibitive risk for some people while constituting pocket money for others.

@solarpunk_girl @mrettig I’m not such a great diagrammer. I’m better at telling stories of ideas using animation, but i see you’ve gotten some good leads in the thread. if you still want to chat in future dm me.

@NickMilo ok, I’ve watched your video & read the bit from Feynman in his lecture... but I’m not getting how you are making use of this. Your opening claim in vid as that all sensemaking is done by triangulation but you offer no support for the claim! i need more examples!

I'm continually amazed at all the Richard Feynman love, but the truth is... ...he deserves it. Here are three reasons why: 1. Triangulation 2. 12 Favorite Problems 3. Writing is the Thinking!

was working on kumu map of @ddwoods2 Theory of Graceful Extensibility. Then, while archiving patreon posts I found an animation script on TGE & #tangledLayeredNetworks that has languished for over a year. dang, my digital garden is more of a jungle! #theory-of-graceful-extensibility-big-ideas" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">embed.kumu.io/7058a5424277a3…
