Unpopular opinion but I think some of our so called horror legends are actually very mid. Stephen King & John Carpenter wouldn’t be prosperous today. They were just in the right era (1970’s). Literally anything that anyone did in that era is considered an automatic classic & I’m kinda over it. Are movies like Halloween classics? Of course. I’m a huge fan of most of them. But they’re genuinely not impressive if you detach the nostalgia. We can do better & should be striving for nothing less.
