Monday's horse racing thread 🧵 Kempton 2.10 Lazieelunch 6/1 each way Kempton 2.45 Fior Di Bosco 5/1 each way Ayr 4.40 Pol Roger 11/4 Kempton 5.00 Pure Of Heart 4/1 Kempton 5.35 Carpathian 6/1 each way Windsor 6.10 Blewburton 2/1 NEXT BEST Windsor 7.40 Kinetic 11/8 NAP I backed LAZIEELUNCH on handicap debut at Catterick last month and he didn't get the best trip. It was probably a combination of things that led to him disappointing but down 2lb and stepping up to a mile I've got a feeling he could bounce back. He still has potential and this is definitely winnable too. Another race with decent each way appeal and FIOR DI BOSCO looks worth chancing on handicap debut. This filly by Too Darn Hot has shown promise and again shaped well in defeat when fifth at Newbury last month. The drop back down to a mile should suit and an opening mark of just 69 could turn out to be lenient. Good chance for POL ROGER to get back in the winners enclosure. He landed back-to-back wins over C&D earlier in the season and has finished runner-up on all 3 starts since. There is nothing wrong with his attitude and given he loves this track there is good reason to think he'll run a big race again. I expect him to be up with the pace so he might always be in the right position. Another race that might not take a great deal of winning so PURE OF HEART is worth backing to come good. She has only had a handful of starts and bounced back from a blip to finish a good fourth at Newbury last month. She was denied a run that day too and was nearest finish suggesting the step back up to a mile and a half could unlock further improvement. Oisin Murphy takes over and she looks one of the better bets of the day. I think they rode CARPATHIAN too far forward last time. It definitely cost her second anyway so I fancy her to reverse form with Measured Moments if given a more patient ride. She has caught the eye a few times in defeat and likely still has more to offer so at a decent each way price I can see her swooping late. She is up a furlong too which will help and remains unexposed in the main. This looks a great chance for BLEWBURTON to get back to winning ways. This son of Saxon Warrior made a perfect start winning impressively on debut at Leicester and then acquitted himself well in defeat to finish third at Salisbury when last seen. He got caught wide and that form is already working out with the winner going close at Newcastle before running well at Glorious Goodwood and the second, fourth, sixth and even tenth all winning since. He has more to come over this trip and is worth keeping on side. I know KINETIC has had a few chances but she was less than 4 lengths behind Godsend at Ripon and then went down just a length at Yarmouth last time. In a winnable race her form is more progressive than most and off the same mark she really should be beating these. There is no real pace angle either so I think she'll be ridden forward and she should take a lot of pegging back. Make A Scene went close at Lingfield but is a modest filly and she holds Bramble Jelly so I think you could argue the fav should be even shorter.
