So what happens when they fall ill, get hospitalized, or fall into a category of people who are chronically ill and constantly under the care of a doctor. They all will fall back into this debt since the core problem was not solved. Will this help some people get back on their feet, maybe. Does this fix a core issue, no. They’ve done these debt payoffs before, but have yet to address the cause of this debt.

This doesn’t serve anyone but the politician who’s going to use this short-term fix to fuel a future campaign. What happens when the less fortunate get injured again after the debt is paid off? They go back into debt because our lawmakers and politicians spend the taxpayer money on paying off the debt and fixing the problem short term, as opposed to using the money to fuel regulation efforts against predatory healthcare practices.
