For the last year, I’ve started only agreeing to do in-person school talks in the evenings—w parents there! Why? Bc I want to help schools activate the silent majority of parents who WANT their kids inspired! WANT their kids to read widely!

At swim class listening to some K parents talk about reading. Their kids are hating it because they aren’t allowed to touch books they can’t decode. 2 kids at 2 diff schools. I wish the SoR people would believe that this is actually happening and destroying the love of reading.
