They risk injuries, shorten careers, and carry national expectations on their shoulders. Asking to be paid what was promised is not a disgrace; it doesn't matter where they choose to do that. It is a basic matter of dignity and professionalism.

Thirty years later, the same federation still exposes Nigeria to embarrassment, and yet your outrage is reserved for the players, not the administrators. These players give their sweat, blood, and health in service of the country.

With due respect, your position is deeply misplaced. You have the voice & influence to shape public opinion, the responsible use of that influence should be to hold the NFF accountable for its chronic failures, not to shame players who are demanding wt they are contractually owed
Charles Anazodo@chaplinez70

I am not supporting anybody. I have never benefitted anything from the NFF or any government official and I dare anybody to show proof of such. I have spoken my mind and it doesn't have to be liked.

Detty December is marketed to the diaspora because they come with foreign currency, time, and nostalgia. They spend freely, document everything, and amplify the experience online. For the system, they’re easy values. But when locals are priced out, the culture starts to feel rented, not lived in. Detty December was born from local joy, not tourist packages. If Nigerians at home can’t afford the shows, the clubs, or the moments, the season loses its soul. Locals must experience it because culture isn’t a pop-up. It’s continuity. Diasporans bring energy, but locals give Detty December its authenticity. Without them, it becomes a theme park, not a tradition.

ANNOUNCEMENT: DECEMBER 2025 EDITION OF ŃKÀTÁ Ụ́MỤ̀ ÍBÈ Every December, Ndị Ìgbò come home in their numbers. We return to our villages and towns to celebrate Christmas with family, to see old friends, to eat 'home-cooked' food, and most importantly, to talk about how to move our communities forward. This yearly homecoming is always special. It is the time when ideas flow, plans are made, and we are re-immersed in the Ìgbò philosophy of Igwe Bụ Ike, which reminds us that together we are stronger. In that same spirit of coming together, the December 2025 edition of Ńkàtá Ụ́mụ̀ Íbè will hold, and we have a very important conversation lined up. We are happy to host Iyom Josephine Anenih, Esq., Founder and President-General of Nkata Ndị Inyom Ìgbò (NNII). She will lead us in a heartfelt discussion on: NDOZI OBODO: Governance and the Question of Shared Leadership in Ala Ìgbò We will talk about something close to our hearts: how every person: men, women, and young people, has a role to play in building and governing Ala Ìgbò. How when we all take part, our communities become stronger and fairer. And how our age-long saying, Igwe Bụ Ike, is still the key to fixing and growing Ala Ìgbò today. Date: Friday, 5 December 2025 Time: 4:00 PM Venue: Centre for Memories, 2 Awgu Street, off Umuoji Street, Independence Layout, Enugu If you are coming home this December, please make time to join us. Bring your thoughts, bring your voice, bring your hope. This conversation is for all of us. We look forward to seeing you. #NkataUmuIbe #CentreForMemories Maka Unyaa, Taa Na Echi.
