It’s becoming apparent that since that result on Saturday the anti Irish/catholic/celtic sentiment is very much alive in Scotland, they couldn’t keep that flimsy lid on it, it’s never been away, doesn’t look like it’s ever going away, guess what?, we are not going away either!🍀

I seriously don’t get the “diet hun” garbage, especially as an American, who picked his team specifically BECAUSE they weren’t Rangers or Celtic. And also this underlying idea that everyone in Scotland supports one of the OF deep down, when just about all of us hate them both.

@Stevee5 @LambeauJambo Relevance to Calling Hearts/ Killie/Dundee and others H*ns? Relevance to spraying Kill all H*ns on walls all over Glasgow and Belfast etc? Surely not all Rangers fans?🙄

@BarryAnderson_ @plynn_lynn It's never, ever, they're the problem. Never at fault for anything. They're the victims and fighting back. Downtrodden and ostracised people finally standing up for themselves. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Thousands & Thousands of them follow that mindset. Deranged.

"Hearts called it an embarrassment to Scottish football. Do you agree that it was?" Martin O'Neill: "I don't believe that. I just don't believe it. I think it's nonsense."

🔚 "When we scored the third goal, the game essentially over!" 😤 "There's obvious excitement... we've just won the league! So the fans should stay put?" Martin O'Neill launches angry defence of #CelticFC fans invading the pitch during their title decider vs Hearts! 😡

@jhnmcgnly In a sporting sense, yesterday should've been a dead rubber, the 2/3 games before that and the skulduggery made sure that wasn't happening.

The concerns around pitch invasions & other investigated incidents re: player and staff safety is as justified at Celtic Park as they are at other stadiums. But the idea that Hearts were denied anything in a sporting sense yesterday is absurd and false. It was never about that.

@IanMurrayMP @NaeBull I sent a formal complaint to the SPFL to which Neil Doncaster kindly sent me their statement in reply. This does not answer my concerns so I am escalating it to my contact in FIFA who will deal with it when their office opens tomorrow

@PhilHay_ Celtic were 5-1 down to Legia Warsaw and Legia brought on an unregistered player in injury time. Rules being rules they cried. Legia went out, Celtic went through. Rules are rules they cried.

A few thoughts on yesterday. The game was done at 3-1 so let’s not be daft with the abandonment stuff. Nobody wants a title on a technicality.

SPFL Statement "Firstly, we send our congratulations to Celtic on winning the William Hill Premiership in the most exciting of circumstances and send our commiserations to everyone at Heart of Midlothian following an incredible campaign. “We would also like to thank the referee and his excellent team of match officials for their cool heads on such a dramatic day. Given the speculation about the conclusion of the game, we would like to make clear that, prior to awarding the trophy, we were informed by the match referee that the match had ended and had not been abandoned. "Yesterday’s match showed off the very best of the Scottish game and the drama and excitement that it is rightly famed for. The eyes of the world were on Glasgow and the climax of the William Hill Premiership, with millions of viewers watching the match on Sky Sports and across the globe. "However, we utterly condemn the scenes which saw a number of Celtic supporters encroach onto the field of play. We await the report of our match delegate regarding any specific incidents that took place but, regardless, supporters entering the field of play in any circumstances is wholly unacceptable and puts those participating and working at a match at risk. We note that entering the pitch in England and Wales has been a criminal offence since 1991. We urge anyone with information about any alleged criminal activity to contact Police Scotland."

The SPFL move to clear up theories that Celtic v Hearts was abandoned: "Prior to awarding the trophy, we were informed by the match referee that the match had ended and had not been abandoned." They also condemn the Celtic fans who invaded the pitch. edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football…

Well. This week didn’t go the way we wanted it to, not by a long shot, but SFA/ refs and Celtic FC certainly showed the world what and who they are. Zero integrity, zero dignity, zero class.

Celtic have just won the league thanks to a 95th minute penalty, given by VAR for handball when there is no conclusive proof it touched his hand The ball movement is conclusive of being headed not punched with hand. Heart break for hearts but it’s a stain on football

@sweirz The last couple of weeks has been cloudy at best. Beaton will kop it and will probably need to quit altogether I’d imagine. Will be his name that’s linked with this for years.

The narrative this week has all been about Beaton and that penalty at Fir Park. That however has just been a convenient fog. The decisions at the same venue last weekend - especially the penalty Willie Collum said #Hearts should have had - are what did for McInnes & Co. Time #Collum - who presides over this shambles - was opened up to questions from journalists, rather than his stage-managed, pally chats for a broadcaster.
