Shifting stacks of dusty old sessions papers up to the new Old Bailey press room. Highlights from 1863-4 include the cases of Charles Johnson & Henry Page for 'feloniously wounding Charles Jackson by kicking him on his private parts' and Joseph Winford for stealing a dead turkey.

@faso_support @EmpowerInnocent @MetroUK She accused one of the children - presumably the son who called the police - of making it all up and coaching the woman on what to say. Doesn't seem to have disputed they were all left in simlarly squalid conditions. Jury will obviously have heard anything she had to say etc.

Lainie Williams was only 17 years old when she was killed in a planned attack. An 18 year old man has been charged with murder. Her mother was also stabbed when attempting to intervene. I make no comments before the trial but learn the Homicide Timeline is all I ask.

Jeremy Britten from the BBC retired from the Old Bailey today after almost three decades covering the court. A great reporter and a tremendous man, Jerry was given a standing ovation by judges, barristers and court staff in a valedictory ceremony in Court No 1.

@AccusedOrg @franticworry @MetroUK That's a question for the tribunals. They often only name the person whose case it is. It's routine across the various professional tribunals for all other witnesses to be anonymised, regardless of who they are or the alleged misconduct.

@AccusedOrg What defence would you like to have seen in a story about someone convicted of drugging and raping 10 women? Claims rejected by the jury who saw the videos he made? Better to devote space to reporting the victims' words and the appeal for any others to come forward, no?
