⚠️Due to animals on the line at Thetford the line towards Ely is blocked. Train services running through this station will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until further notice. Our 05:33 Norwich to Cambridge has hit a deer in the Thetford area. Unfortunately, the train has sustained some damage and will require a technician to attend as well as a rescue train to clear the line. This process is similar to using a car breakdown service. Routes affected; Norwich < - > Cambridge and Stansted Airport East Midlands route The line from Norwich towards Ely is currently blocked. While the line from Ely towards Norwich is currently open, trains in this direction will be disrupted. Alternative Travel Options We are currently trying to organise replacement buses and ticket acceptance to help you with your journey. You can use your tickets on routes via Bury St Edmunds. To re-plan your journey this way, use National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner, click "route options" and set your preferred route as "travelling via Bury St Edmunds" Please be aware that should you decide to travel via London, there is also disruption on the Intercity route between Norwich and London Liverpool Street because of a broken down train.

@greateranglia That train is still stuck but the 07:26 from Norwich still says it’s delayed. It seems improbable that the train will be cleared in time that you’ll run this service…why not cancel it so people aren’t just hanging around?

The bogeys at the back of carriage 912409 are rocking the @greateranglia 14:26 CBG to NWI like mad. I could probably make the perfect Bond martini, shaken not stirred! Seriously though yesterday’s train was worse. Is it the rolling stock or the track? And is it a safety issue?!

@greateranglia You got approximately 80 people on a bus that can take 85-100. Standing on the lower deck is legal but you’re not allowing it - why? You are making a bad situation worse.

@greateranglia sorry to hear the news about the level crossing incident at Waterbeach. Is there any info on the availability of buses at Cambridge North to Ely?

@greateranglia Apparently @greateranglia don’t allow people to stand on a replacement bus so 11 more people at least could have got on this one. I’m on the floor because for GA staff and 1 manager can’t count…but at least I’m moving.

@greateranglia The queues at Cambridge North are running into the car park. We’ve been here 20 minutes and still no buses. This is unacceptable.

Morning @greateranglia there’s no salt off the bridge at Wymondham and it was dangerously icy carrying my bike down this morning. Will the new tunnel enable step free access to platform 2 in the New Year?

@greateranglia there was a noticeable”bump” as we went over the Great Ouse bridge near the Fish & Duck Marina on the 07:38 Wymondham to Cambridge this morning. That section of the railway has been getting more wobbly, particularly on the section from there down to Waterbeach

@greateranglia WiFi on the 07:38 Wymondham to Cambridge (coach 912332) is almost non existent this morning. I’ve reported this multiple times, and complained. This is my continuing to update you as and when after spending £5000 on a strain ticket.
